Melting off Hawk’s lap onto the couch next to him, I stared up at the ceiling, realizing that here, the room went up two stories and there was a massive skylight letting in the sun.

I let my thoughts drift, and as I did, Hawk pulled my legs into his lap and stroked down my skin, the touch easy and warm. No one said anything, but it wasn’t an uncomfortable silence.

The thought of going back to my shitty apartment across the country made my entire soul wilt. I didn’t want that. My friends were here. My family was here. I liked the weather and the city better here. And they were here.

Why was this even a conversation? They were here. Was I scared? Yes. But like both Hawk and Joel had pointed out, it wasn’t the same kind of fear. Fear because of prior experience. Fear because it was huge and irrevocable and any sane person would be nervous of it. But was there even a shred of a chance of me walking away from them?

No.

They were mine.

That’s all there was to it.

“So you’re okay with an Omega who’s probably going to be skittish for a while, and really wants this but doesn’t know how?”

Cade suddenly hovered above me, and he knelt beside the couch before kissing me. “I’m okay with you, princess. Everything you are.”

I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him down on top of me. He just barely managed to keep himself from crushing me, and he whispered in my ear. “I’m so much more thanokaywith you, Isolde. I’m very much in love with you, and even if everyone in this pack isn’t ready to say it, they are too. I might not be able to match with you by scent, but you’re still mine.”

Shock rolled through me. “You are my match, Cade. Your scent hits me just as hard as everyone else. Even if you can’t feel it, I can.”

Rowan sat down on the couch across from us and leaned forward on his elbows. “Does this mean you’re staying?”

I bit my lip and nodded. “Yeah. I am.”

They all closed in, pulling me into a tangle of limbs and kisses that lifted me off the couch. Off the ground.

“I always was,” I finally whispered. “I’m sorry I let my head get in the way.”

“Never apologize for making sure something isright, baby girl. But fuck me, I’m glad you’re mine.”

I let myself relax into their arms. “Me too.”

Then my stomach interrupted again, loudly, breaking us all apart. Vaughn held up his phone and grinned. “Food’s almost here. Then we can stuff our faces, and most importantly, make plans.”

I didn’t think I’d ever been as excited about making plans.

CHAPTER FORTY-TWO

________

ISOLDE

There was food and exploration. The house was cleverly designed, and there was so much more space inside than it looked like. The basement, which was the size of the entire house, helped. It housed their gym, Rowan’s growing space and industrial kitchen, Hawk’s music room, and Cade’s rope studio.

He winked and told me it was for more thanjustrope, but I couldn’t take my eyes off the dark beams of wood and all the different colors of rope hanging on the wall.

They all had bedrooms, and there was an empty one for me. Joel had a room on the first floor where he’d worked on all their admin tasks for the escort business and played games.

But I was still tired from the heat, and I needed to get my clothes and everything else from my parents’ house before I passed out again.

Cade gave me a pair of sweatpants to put on, and I smirked. “It’s Clarity. I’m sure there have been more scandalous things than an Omega walking outside in nothing but a t-shirt.”

I was teasing him. I didn’t want to go outside half-naked, but I wanted his reaction. Cade didn’t disappoint, stepping into me with that look that told me he wouldn’t mind bending me over the nearest surface and reminding me who he was, Beta or not.

His voice was gentle in the quiet, but I still shivered. “I’m about to get possessive. Are you going to let me?”

It wasn’t a question about this moment, but our boundaries together. I already knew they could change and shift. None of them gave me any doubt. Right now? I wanted them to own me.
