“Oh.” I gasped, covering my mouth. “That looks amazing.”

“Would you like to take a bath?” Sebastian’s voice startled me, making me jump. “I’m sorry. The carpet in the house muffles sounds.”

I shook my head. “I don’t mean to be so jumpy.”

“I think you have every reason to be jumpy.” He raised an eyebrow. “Would a hot bath help you relax?”

I nodded and felt a small smile on my face.

Sebastian went over to the small linen closet I overlooked and took out a washcloth and towel, then came back over, setting them on the step to get into the tub. He reached over and started the water, setting the temperature, and then motioned to it.

“All yours.” He smiled and for a moment, I thought he would kiss me, but he turned and left the room.

Sebastian

I didn’t mean to scare him. Letting out a deep sigh, I went to the kitchen and got out the special tray for the tub.

I set it on the island and heard my front door open.

“Bas?” my pop called out and walked into the kitchen. “What the hell is going on?”

I shrugged. “With what?”

“Lane claimed you beat the shit out of Simon.”

“Oh. That.” I nodded. “I did.”

“He couldn’t have been dumb enough…”

“He was.” I pressed my hands down on the island and watched my dad’s face go from shock to anger.

“That son of a bitch.” His growl gave me goosebumps.

“Yep.” I let out a long breath. “Nolan is getting ready to try out the tub.”

He nodded. “So you’re making him a snack tray?”

“Well, yeah. He got sick on the ride home.” I shrugged. “He’ll need something.”

“What can your dad and I do?” He sat down on the stool and watched me move around my kitchen.

“Let Dillon know?” I shrugged. “I have a feeling there’s about to be a pack war.”

“Well, yeah.” He nodded. “I’ll set the ball in motion.”

“Thanks, dad.” I grabbed a cutting board from the cabinet beside the stove, set it down and then got to work slicing an apple and cheese, rinsing some strawberries and arranging them on the plate.

He raised his eyebrow, watching me.

“What?”

“That’s a unique mix.” He pointed to the plate I assembled.

“Oh!” I moved over to the fridge and got out some cold cuts to add and then also put some crackers with it all. “There. I’ve covered all bases.”

He smiled. “What if he wants chocolate?”

“Then I’ll break into the secret stash.” I shrugged.
