“Good morning, Frankie.”

“Morning.” She reached for Charlie. “C’mon!”

The trio ran off as Monica came over. “Those three are trouble together,” she laughed.

“Who’s the other boy?”

“That’s Dillon Walsh. He gets here early.”

My heart sank to my feet.

Fuck. We use the same daycare.

“Awesome.” I awkwardly pointed at the door. “I need to go.”

“Okay, we’ll see you after work.”

Back at my car, I dropped my head to the steering wheel, caught between warring emotions of learning my son is friends with his brother.

Suck it up. You need to get to work. You can figure out when to talk to Henry later.

With a shake of my head, I pulled away from the daycare and drove over to the Port Stella assisted living. Pulling into the parking lot, I parked beside Tara’s car and went inside. I found my friend sitting in the breakroom.

“Hey, Miranda.” She looked up and smiled from the chart in her hands.

“Hey.” I put my lunch in the fridge and leaned against the counter. “Guess who I saw today?”

She narrowed her eyes. “Jensen Ackles?”

I laughed. “Ha! I wish.”

“Gimme a hint.” Tara reached over and picked up the home cat, Persephone.

“High school asshole.”

“To be fair, there were a lot of them.”

I nodded. “You’re not wrong.”

“Hmmm, based on the look in your eyes, I’m gonna guess, Henry?”

“What look?” I took my jacket off.

“The same look you had in high school when he walked by,” Tara laughed.

“Pfft. Please.” I hung my jacket up. “The only look on my face when Henry walked by was disgust.”

“Henry who?” Dr. Adams asked, joining us in the room.

“Henry Walsh.” She supplied as she put her hair up.

Doc smiled at me. “His company built my house. Nice guy.” He filled his coffee cup. “Oh! And they did the work on the Alzheimer’s wing.”

“Where did you see him?” Tara’s eyes twinkled with mischief.

“Ugh. Those stupid geese someone donated to this place decided to go on a walkabout. And he’s my neighbor.”

Dr. Adam’s shoulders shook with laughter as he walked away. “The area for them is almost finished.”
