“Not up for going back to her place?” I ask, even though I know I shouldn’t.

“Nah.”

“She’s pretty though.”

“She is. It takes a lot more than pretty to hold my interest.”

“Surprising.”

“Why? Did you expect me to be an easy fuck?”

“I didn’t expect your standards to be quite so high.”

“Ouch.”

“I’m just saying…”

“Just because you seduced me easily doesn’t make me easy.” He grins at me, and it makes something flip in my stomach.

“I did not seduce you!”

“Oh, you did. You knew what you were doing.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Wearing those skimpy outfits to bed and taking your bra off in front of me.”

“You said that kind of stuff didn’t work.”

“No, I told you that stuff didn’t work on guys like Xander, but it would absolutely work on a guy like me. And then you used that knowledge to your advantage.”

“Oh please. That’s just what I had with me in my suitcase. I wasn’t expecting us to be sharing a room.”

“Hard to believe. Especially when you were all ‘Oh no, whatever will Xander like in bed? If only I had someone to teach me.’” He presses a hand to his brow like he’s in distress and then grins wickedly.

“I was looking for honest answers. It’s not like I could go to my brother for that kind of thing.”

“Yeah. I guess admitting you were trying to seduce both his friends under his nose would have been a bit much for him to take.”

“Oh my god. I was not. I wanted Xander. Things with you just got… out of hand.”

“That’s one way to put it.” He grins before he eats another bite of the cake— one that’s shockingly good—and I feel a little guilty that I’m getting it instead of its intended recipient.

I gasp dramatically and point my fork at him. “You seduced me. All the muscles and tattoos and gravelly voice stuff.”

“Gravelly voice stuff?” He looks at me amused.

“I was minding my business watching a movie when you were all ‘do you touch yourself?’”

“You were watching the movie. I was watching you. And you were sexy as fuck and begging for help to lose your virginity. I just thought you could at least have a good experience with it.”

“And your ego!” I shake my head.

“Don’t recall any complaints out on the deck that one night.”

I blush hard when I remember that incident. He made me come so hard and so loudly that we were nearly killed by a mountain lion, but I’m not sure I would have cared at the time.

“Like I said about things getting out of hand.” I stand and take the empty container and the forks, putting the container back into the bag and putting it in the trash before I slide the spoons into the dishwasher. When I go to turn around, he’sthere, and I take a step backward until I feel my butt hit the counter.
