Gawd. No.

No more boners for me.

“Here it is,” I say, waving my hand around the entire garage.

Alec’s lips twitch as the door closes behind us, leaving us completely alone. I can feel the air thicken, and I find it hard to breathe again. Damn these lungs.

“Got it,” he says and then moves toward the big metal cylinder in the corner of the room. So that’s what it looks like. Jesus, I need to grow up. I also shouldn’t stand here and ogle him, but here I am. I can’t fucking move. I’m like a creepy statue. I don’t even look particularly nice either, and I probably smell like mayonnaise and mustard.

Alec turns to look at me over his shoulder, and I feel my cheeks flush. All I can see is his mouth, those fucking lips that kissed my asshole. Frenched it, actually.

Goddamn it.

Suddenly, the door to the garage opens, and Jai and Lucas amble out. Jai’s eyes flick to Alec and then to me. His lips flatten and his brow dips, and then I see Lucas shift on his feet, his arms folding over his massive chest as he stares at Jai who is staring at me. For a second, I think Lucas looks angry, but then again, I could be hallucinating. I’m in the presence of Alec. And we all know how he makes me crazy.

I clear my throat and then walk toward them, hoping they follow me inside. “Well, we’ll be in the house if you need us.”

I call it out casually, like I wasn’t just having a moment. Like I wasn’t just frozen on the garage floor like a creep, ogling our landlord.

“So, that’s your new landlord?” Jai asks when we get back inside.

I shrug as Ollie pipes up. “Yeah. Was cleaning our gutters the other week and he mows our lawn.”

He waggles his eyebrows like he’s just said something dirty, and I snort a small laugh. Even though this is no laughing matter. Not at all.

This is very serious business. The utmost.

“Oh,” Jai says, clearing his throat and pursing his lips. “I see.”

“Nothing to see,” I say and then gesture toward the couch.

“Look, let’s just chill. Want to play games? We can order dinner if you’re hungry.”

Ollie chimes in that he is ridiculously hungry, and Lucas grunts a response. Jai just peeks over at me, and I offer him a small smile. Fuck, this is weird. I’ve made this weird.

Or maybe he made it weird.

No. Nope. Alec’s made it weird.

He made it weird by existing. By being him and having that goddamn tongue and fingers that do things to my body. Things I can’t ever admit to anyone, least of all myself.

No. No more Alec.

Ever.

“Yeah, let’s order something. I’m sure we could all eat,” I say and everyone nods. Ollie gets his phone out, and I tug it from his hands. I don’t want Ollie ordering anything. Been there, done that. It would most likely be some weird thing that none of us really like but we’ll eat because we don’t want him to feel bad.

“I’ll order. Barbecue. That work?”

Lucas grunts his approval and Jai nods as we all settle on the couch. Jai sits next to me, his leg brushing against mine. I try to pretend it isn’t happening, that it’s not a big deal. His leg has touched mine a million times before, I’m sure. But for some reason, this feels different.

I grab the controllers and hand them out, turning on a racing game and trying to focus. But my eyes get all wonky when Alec walks in, his big strides taking him across the room in a few steps, his muscles bulging. I can’t look away. Jai’s posture tightens next to me, and I see Lucas glowering from his spot on the chair opposite us.

But what am I supposed to do? Keep my eyes to myself? It’s not my fault that Alec is like this. I blame him. I blame God for inventing him.

I mean honestly, if God made both of us, couldn’t he have had some decency and put Alec in Antarctica and not just down the goddamn street?

My vision starts to swim, and I feel my cock perk up. Goddamnit. I’m not getting hard here where everyone can see. I refuse.
