I grunted in response, reaching for one of the coffees as I glanced around us once more. We’d pulled into the parking garage of the hotel while our father continued the meeting with Moretti.

I pulled my phone out as I took a sip of the coffee, the wretched dream replaying in my head.

“Kieran, coffee,” Enzo barked, causing Kieran to grumble before he shot up.

“Any news?” he blurted as Enzo offered him a coffee.

“Nothing yet,” I muttered as I checked my messages. All business stuff, nothing from my father, nothing in relation to Vee. And that pissed me off to no end.

“Why is it taking this fucking long?” Kieran snapped before taking a hefty gulp of the coffee. “Maybe a nice little bloodbath will speed things up.”

I dragged my gaze to the entryway of the parking garage, the morning sun now slicing through the opening.

He had a point. We’d relayed our message, but it was clear they were still fucking around. A good little spur into motion might be needed.

My phone pinged just as my blood began to boil, and I glared at the message, inwardly smirking.

“Anything?” Kieran questioned as he leaned forward between the seats to glance at my screen. Enzo was just sipping his coffee, oddly calm. It was like the entire usual dynamics of our trio had shifted, and it made me uneasy.

“They found Callum,” I stated. “Police reports are done. Discovered in a burnt out vehicle, written off as an accident, fell asleep behind the wheel and rolled the car. All covered up,” I relayed.

“Photos?” Kieran asked, and I clicked on the photos sent through from our team.

A wicked smile broke across Kieran’s face at the sight. “Well, it’s art in its own way.”

“I don’t like this,” Enzo muttered as he stared out the window, tapping a finger on the steering wheel.

“We should head back in there, they’ve had far too much time,” Kieran agreed.

“No mercy this time,” I muttered, and Enzo gave me a knowing look. He was not holding it together as well as he was portraying. None of us were. Patience wasn’t our greatest virtue, not with Vee’s life in the balance.

We all climbed out of the car, coffees in hand and guns shoved into hidden holsters.

I led the way, heading straight for the elevator to the foyer.

The poor reception clerks wouldn’t know what to do when we went in there, ready to drop bodies.

Our father wouldn’t be pleased, but this was ridiculous. We needed to remind them who they were dealing with.

We piled into the elevator, the doors shutting us in as we downed our coffees, no enjoyment possible right now. It was merely fuel for the carnage we intended to let loose. Kieran would make one hell of a mess.

We all would.

I glanced down to Enzo’s hand, which he was flexing and tightening. His face was drawn, the bags under his eyes now visible. Had he gotten any sleep? No, he would’ve been stressing about Vee all night. We all had been, distracting ourselves with whatever we could while we’d waited in the car. How Kieran andI had drifted off was beyond me, but I knew I’d done it out of necessity. Tiredness caused mistakes, and Vee didn’t need me fucking up right now. I needed to be on my game.

“I could gouge out Stefano’s eye, that’d get our point across,” Kieran mused, like he was talking about what he intended to order for lunch, not mutilating a man.

“Maybe go for someone down the chain a bit. Don’t shatter the hornet’s nest entirely,” I said, clenching my jaw at the pleasant elevator music.

“Where’s the fun in that?” Kieran said as he gave me a charming smile, those eyes flashing dangerously.

The doors opened, and Kieran strode out first, sauntering in a way that had Enzo casting me an uneasy look.

I just sighed, knowing this was going to get messy, and there was no stopping him now. I didn’t mind it, he would only be acting out exactly what I wanted to do, too.

He headed straight for the meeting room, the reception clerks rising but not saying a word as they watched us move in.

The guards stationed there stiffened at our incoming forms, a few uneasy looks being exchanged.
