I kissed him again, unable to help myself, but two sharp knocks on the door had me pulling away.

“You need lunch,” Triston called. “So, button up and head down or you’re going to get interrupted by someone who cares less about your decency.” I pulled open the door and Triston looked over my clothes before looking at Branson’s, eyebrows raised to find us fully clothed. “Really? You didn’t take advantage of your alone time?” He shook his head. “You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take, my friend.”

Branson growled. “I don’t need your advice.”

Triston shrugged and stepped to the side so I could leave the room. “Very well.” He leaned down and flicked his tongue across my cheek making me giggle. “Hello, beautiful. You look better. Did you sleep well?”

I nodded and led the way downstairs to the dining room. “Very well, thank you.” When I glanced back, both Branson and Triston were staring at my butt as I walked down the steps in front of them. “Like what you see?” I teased.

Both nodded and my face immediately heated.

Spinning back around, I hurried to the dining room. This time when I found it full of people, I only had a moment of my heart speeding up, but didn’t fully freak out.

Kara waved me towards her and I hurried over to her side. She narrowed her eyes at me and asked, “What’s got your face aflame?”

I fidgeted and glanced towards Branson and Triston as they walked in before looking back at her.

Knowing lit up her eyes and she chuckled. “I see.” She patted my hand. “I’m glad to see you’re feeling better.”

“Thank you for the potion,” I said. “I slept very well.”

“Being spooned by a large alpha can do that,” Leona said and winked. One of the twins put his arm around her shoulders and whispered something in her ear that had her giggling and cheeks reddening.

“Come eat,” Riddick ordered me and I realized there was an empty seat between his and Caleb’s again.

When I sat down, Caleb leaned over and sniffed my face over the spot Triston had licked me and my lips which likely smelled like Branson. His lip twitched as if he was going to smile, but then it dropped and he gently turned my face with his finger on my chin. Once my opposite cheek was towards him, he rubbed his against it.

Riddick put food on my plate, an assortment of meats, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables, like a little charcuterie board, and poured me a glass of water. I gave him a happy smile and kissed his cheek. “Thank you.”

The tips of his ears reddened a moment, which brought me extreme joy.

When I faced the rest of the table, my own face grew hot realizing everyone was watching us.

“What’s the status of the apartments?” Caleb asked as he chewed on some cheese.

“We contacted the building manager and she’s confirmed that all apartments are cleaned and ready for use. We can take you over there whenever you’re ready,” Prince Rhys answered.

“Apartments?” I asked. They had mentioned apartments, but I hadn’t really asked about what that meant before.

“The building my parents used to live in has five apartments that they haven’t used since they were dating,” Caleb explained. “They had them cleaned and are going to allow us all to live there.”

My mouth dropped and I blinked fast multiple times in silent disbelief. They were just going to give us an entire apartment building to live in?

“It’s just been sitting there, so we thought with your pack forming that it might be the best spot for you all to move,” Jolie said. “It will give you each your own place, your own bit of solitude, but since you are in the same building it makes it easier to visit, hang out, and protect each other.”

“Isn’t that the place the pizza guy kidnapped you from and a flower bomb almost killed you?” I blurted.

Prince Rhys, Prince Deryn, Prince Foxfire, and Nico all growled, making me flinch at the same time Jolie flinched.

Caleb, however, exploded in laughter and slapped the table. “That’s right!” He continued laughing despite his dads’ growls.

“Learn from our mistakes,” Prince Rhys said sternly.

“Well, technically Caleb’s already experienced me getting kidnapped from a building he was in, so I don’t know whether we’re learning from your mistakes or copying them.” I don’tknow why I said it, but once it was out, I couldn’t take the words back.

Caleb sighed and turned to glare at me. “Wow, that cuts deep, Ember.”

Jolie was smiling wide, as was Leona, so I just smiled at them and popped a piece of meat in my mouth.
