“When would we leave?” I asked Caleb.

He shrugged. “Whenever you want.”

I sighed and looked longingly at the stairs. “I guess a nap can wait, but I do need a shower and to get changed. Wouldn’t want to subject anyone’s sensitive shifter noses to my stench.” Raising my arm, I sniffed, and immediately flinched at the body odor. “Definitely need a shower.”

Several of them chuckled in the dining room.

“Take your time,” King Daniel said as he shut the front door. “I’ve got to talk to my grandson about some important things.”

With a nod, I hurried up the stairs and took a long, hot shower, being sure to wash myself thoroughly, even scrubbing my scalp with my nails.

Standing at the dresser, I frowned at my limited supply of clothing. I hadn’t asked to go shopping because I hadn’t wanted to be a bother, but it really was becoming a necessity. All of the clothes currently available to me were from Jolie. It was lucky we wore the same size.

“Can I come in?” Caleb asked as he knocked on my door.

“Sure,” I said and tucked my towel tighter so it wouldn’t fall.

His eyes widened when he saw me in the towel. “Can’t decide what to wear?”

“I need to go shopping,” I said. “Would it be possible to go before we go to the werewolf den?” Thankfully, my ID and bank card had been in my pocket when the house exploded, so I didn’t have to worry about getting those replaced, but all of my clothes were now ash.

“Oh, right, I’m sorry, Ember. You should have reminded me sooner.” He frowned. “Do you want to borrow a pair of my sweats and a shirt? We can go shopping now and then go to the den afterwards.”

“That works,” I said with a nod. “I need to wash all of the clothes your mom lent me since I’ve worn them.” And most ofthem were workout clothes that had been sweated in, so not items I wanted to put on.

Following him to his room, I waited while he got me a pair of black sweats. I had to roll the waistband to adjust the length and tightness. Instead of a t-shirt, I snagged one of his black tank tops.

He frowned down at my chest. “We definitely need to go shopping. I can’t take you to the den looking like this.”

I flushed in embarrassment. “I wouldn’t go like this. I wouldn’t want to embarrass you by being seen like this.”

His frown turned into a scowl. “Embarrass me? Ember, I’d be fighting every single wolf off you if they saw you like this.”

I looked in the mirror next to the dresser, but didn’t see what he did. It was just me in rolled sweats and a tank top. Sure, there was a bit of cleavage peeking out the top of the shirt, but not an indecent amount. “Uh, sure. Whatever you say.”

He scooped his arm around my waist, and pulled me back against him, staring over my head at me in the reflection of the mirror. “You are beautiful and sexy and if Ezio wasn’t waiting for us outside right now, I would show you exactly how much I think so.”

Spinning around in his hold, I jumped up and kissed his cheek. “Thank you. Let’s not keep him waiting.”

He groaned. “You jump like that again and we won’t be going anywhere today.”

I wagged my finger back and forth at him. “No, bad prince. I need clothes. Sexy times can wait.”

“So, you admit you want sexy times with me right now, too?” he said with a cocky smirk.

“I’m a bit crazy, but not crazy enough to fall into that trap. Come on, Your Highness.”

He kissed my cheek, grabbed my hand and threaded his fingers into mine, then lead me downstairs and out to the waiting SUV.

Ezio drove with Riddick in the passenger seat. Caleb opened the back door for me and slid in beside me. “Slight change in plans,” he informed them. “We need to go to the mall first.”

Ezio arched a brow, but after looking at me in the rearview mirror, smiled and nodded. “Understood.”

We started driving and I asked, “Are you like a bodyguard or something?”

Ezio smiled and nodded. “Driver slash bodyguard slash babysitter.”

Caleb kicked Ezio’s seat, which made him laugh.
