“Like your mom does with your dads?” I asked. “Through their bonds?”

He nodded and took one of my strawberries, popping it into his mouth with a smile as I scowled at him. There was an entire bowl of strawberries, but he stole one off of my plate.

“But we don’t have a mate bond, so how is that possible?”

“Mom did it when she joined their warrior’s bond, too,” he explained.

“But you guys don’t have a bond yet,” I reminded him.

“Riddick and I do,” he said.

I nearly choked on my strawberry. “You do?”

He nodded. “We have a warrior’s bond between the two of us.”

“But I didn’t join yours like your mom joined your dad’s, right?”

“No, you didn’t. You have a separate bond with us.” He smiled. “We don’t know for certain how that bond formed, but it exists so we’ll just have to figure things out from here.”

“Your family is full of trouble,” Thor said and shook his head.

“Excitement,” Caleb countered. “We are full of excitement.”

“We had a very short reprieve of quiet and peace and now you’ve brought back lots of craziness just in one week,” Thor argued.

“You were getting bored, Uncle, don’t lie,” Caleb teased him.

Thor smiled and chuckled. “Maybe a little.”

“How can you be bored when you’ve got such a fun mate?” Leona asked and she, Triston, and Branson joined us.

“I could never be bored with you, darlin’,” he crooned and pulled her onto his lap.

“Auntie, we are trying to eat,” Caleb said with a scrunched-up face.

She shrugged. “Look at your plate then, child.”

I laughed and Caleb poked my ribs. “Don’t encourage her.”

“No tickling,” I ordered with a scowl.

He reached over to steal another strawberry, but I smacked his hand.

“Get your own food if you’re hungry,” Jolie said as she came in, her mates behind her.

“I’m going to take a nap,” I announced, ate the last strawberry on my plate, and started out of the room.

“Do you want to visit Winnie and Natalia today?” Caleb asked.

I stumbled a step as I stopped myself and spun around. “Really?”

He nodded. “Papa Dan said you’re welcome to visit today if you want.”

“Yes, yes I did,” King Daniel said as he walked through the front door to my left, startling me so bad I jerked sideways.

“Butter on toast,” I hissed. “You’re pretty stealthy for such a large man.”

He gave me a smug smile and said, “Thank you.”
