“I'm going to stop by the kitchen to get something to eat and then head to the garage. Make sure the soldiers are ready.”

“I'll do it.” He nodded, moving away and going down the stairs first.

As soon as I arrived in the kitchen, the housekeeper was startled by my presence, but soon recovered to behave correctly in front of me.

“Sir.”

“I am hungry.”

“I made the breakfast; I was going to take it to the dining room.”

“You can give it to me right here, I won't have time to sit down and eat.”

“Alright.” She turned and picked up a plate with fried eggs and Grénki, a fried bread. “Do you prefer milk or juice?”

“Milk.”

She filled a glass and handed it to me. Leaning on the counter, I had everything as quickly as I could and left thekitchen without saying anything else, walking to the cars where the men were standing waiting for me.

“Ready to go?” Sergei asked and I just nodded.

I got into the back seat of a black SUV and the counselor stood next to me before the soldiers organized themselves and the vehicles left the garage towards the traditional meeting point of the Russian mafia.

“They will test you; they will provoke you and see how far your limits go.”

“I’d think so.”

“You can't give in.”

“I'm not a puppet like Igor was. I will show them who calls the shots and if they don't agree, I will show them how it will be.”

“Threaten them...”

“You know I'm not just a man of threats, Sergei.”

“Your father would’ve liked to be here and see you now.”

“I'm not so sure about that, but I don't care either.” I shrugged and turned my head to observe the street outside the car.

I wasn't acting that way because I needed to prove something to my father, if he was capable of seeing anything from hell. I was tired of being called a bastard son of a bitch and I would make everyone respect me as I should be, even if it required bloodshed. It wouldn't be the first red stains on Moscow's streets.

The cars stopped in front of a night club that was a few blocks from the Red Square. The night used to bring together locals and tourists from all over the world looking for somefun. All types of drugs were sold there for the most diverse experiences.

As soon as the soldiers left, I put my feet on the street, pulled up the hem of my jacket and ran my hand through my hair, pushing it back.

Some men went ahead, and Sergei followed one step behind me into the club. On the sofas and tables were leaders from all over Russia. They were there on my orders and turned around instantly when they saw me.

“We were hoping to see your brother,” said one of them who was sitting near the wood and glass counter, swirling a glass of whiskey in his left hand.

“He went to meet my father a little earlier.”

“There are rumors that you killed him.”

“These are not rumors.”

“We didn't imagine you would be so ambitious.”

“It's possible that there are many things about me that you can't even imagine.”
