“Thanks.” Jackson squeezed his hand.

That was when Michael noticed that Jackson still wore the leather cuffs and had the chain tucked inside his own front pocket. Wow, Daddy Finn had totally been right about Jackson. He liked being cuffed to Daddy.

“Are you both ready?” Finn asked, standing in front of the truck. He opened the back passenger door while motioning them forward.

Michael kissed Jackson’s cheek quickly before he raced down the steps. He handed Daddy Finn his bag then gave Finn a kiss on his cheek as well. As Michael climbed into the back seat, he heard Finn blow out a breath.

“Sorry, baby. I don’t mean to be short with you. I just have a lot on my mind.”

“It’s okay, Daddy,” Michael assured him. “We’re in this together. I’ll make sure that I’m with you or Jackson the whole time.”

Finn’s shoulders relaxed. “Thanks, little bit.”

Michael settled in the seat and figured that he could get a few more minutes of sleep before they got back in town. He leaned his head against the window then closed his eyes.

“You have any idea who could have broken in?” Jackson asked quietly.

“I really don’t. I haven’t had any problems that I know of. If something had happened in the last week—”

“You can’t be there twenty-four hours a day,” Jackson said. “You built a great and safe place. You deserve time away as well.”

“Thanks. I know that. I do. I just can’t stop thinking what if this happened if one of my employees had been there.”

“Michael.” Jackson said his name quietly.

Michael didn’t open his eyes, but he did listen.

“Yeah. All the times I sent him to the office for a break. To lie down. The times that we’ve fallen asleep on that couch.”

“But that didn’t happen,” Jackson pointed out. “He was safe in bed with us.”

“What about next time?” Finn asked.

“There won’t be a next time.”

Michael shivered in the back seat. He would not want to be the person who put that tone in Jackson’s voice.

“This isn’t anything you need to get involved in,” Finn told him.

“If it involves you, then it involves me. And Michael. We’re a team. You said those words yourself. Besides, who’s going to hold my chain if something happens to you?”

Finn chuckled. Michael was grateful that Jackson seemed to know what Daddy Finn needed to hear.

“As soon as I’m done talking to the cops, that chain is going back on my belt,” Finn said.

“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Jackson replied softly.

Michael smiled in the back seat. The week alone had done a lot for the three of them. Jackson seemed to accept the claim that they’d placed on him and didn’t seem to want to run. Finn had been more relaxed than Michael had ever seen him. Michael was more secure in his regression.

The start of the week might have been all to get Jackson alone and force him to listen to them. So they could tell Jackson that they wanted to keep him. Damn, it seemed like so much longer than just a week. Michael had never been closer to two men in his life and that included the twins.

He must have ended up dozing off since before Michael knew what was happening, they were pulling up behind the club in the employee car lot. There were two other cars parked that Michael knew belonged to the manager and assistant manager. One lone cop car was parked close to the door.

“Do you want to wait here?” Finn turned around and asked.

Was it cowardly to say yes? Michael couldn’t do that though. Jackson was right. They were in this together. “I’ll go in. Just maybe…keep the truck unlocked in case I want to come back?” That seemed reasonable.

Finn turned off the ignition before removing the keys from the ignition and passing them back to Michael. “Whatever you want to do, little bit.”
