Finn knelt in front of the chair. “I know.”

“I wanted to. I really fucking wanted to.” Jackson sounded devastated.

“I know.” Finn slipped his hands under the blanket to rub at Jackson’s chilled legs.

“I love the both of you so much,” Jackson said.

Damn this man. No one got to see Jackson like this. Wrecked. They all thought that he was all smiles and laughter, but Jackson felt things deeply. “I love you too. Michael loves you.”

Jackson nodded. “Why if I don’t deserve your love?”

“You do,” Finn declared fiercely.

“I’ve done bad things, Finn.”

“You’ve done good things too. None that matters though.” Finn put as much steel in his voice as he could.

Jackson cocked his head to the side. “It doesn’t?”

“Not with us,” Finn assured him. “All that matters is what’s in here.” Finn tapped Jackson’s chest.

Jackson blinked. “My chain broke.”

Oh! His poor boy. “I already have a replacement on the way. It will be delivered in the morning.” Finn had made the call before he’d even gone upstairs. He tucked the broken chain into his leather pants, but he’d known that eventually Jackson would notice. And feel the loss.

“You do?” Jackson’s eyes cleared slightly. No longer glazed over.

“Yes. I swear.”

“I don’t even know why I need it. I mean, want it,” Jackson said.

The word was need, but Finn wouldn’t correct Jackson when he was so obviously struggling. “Maybe it’s as simple as you like knowing that we won’t leave you. Or let you leave. Ever. You will never be alone again.”

“Even if I don’t deserve you and Michael, please don’t let me fuck this up.”

“You are not going to fuck up anything,” Finn responded.

“Even when I get the urge to run?”

“Even then. And you didn’t run,” Finn pointed out.

“Only because I didn’t want to disappoint you. Or hurt Michael. Again.”

“It’ll get easier,” Finn said. “You should have told me though.”

“I don’t want to be a bother,” Jackson replied. “And Michael needed us.”

Finn was going to have to work on Jackson not thinking he was just as important as them. He’d noticed Jackson had been off, but Finn didn’t follow his instincts. Not a mistake that he would repeat. Leaning forward, Finn kissed Jackson deeply. After he pulled away, Finn held Jackson’s fingers. “I need you.”

The fire finally returned to Jackson’s eyes. “You do.”

“I do.” He kissed Jackson again.

Jackson responded beautifully. He really was a pretty man although he’d probably hit Finn if Finn ever said that out loud. As Finn fucked his mouth with his tongue, he pulled Jackson up with him.

“Bed,” Finn mumbled against Jackson’s lips.

They kissed and touched while stumbling across the room. Finn’s shoulder hit the doorframe before the door opened for them.
