“He said nine is a bit early since tomorrow is Sunday, but he will be here when we open at ten.”

“Perfect, no problem; I’ll see him then. Thanks for your help.” I waved and started to walk away as he leaned down on the counter.

“Anything else specific I can help you with, miss?”

I felt the slight sensation of a blush begin to creep up my neck because his words almost sounded like an innuendo. “It’s Aubrey,” I said with a smirk.

“Okay, anything else I can help you with, Miss Aubrey?” The way this man said my name, I was going to need a cold shower. It still felt like he was propositioning me…maybe he was. He had a sexy grin that I wanted to lick off his beautiful face.

I smiled, “Nope, guess I’ll see you again if you’re here tomorrow. Have a good one.”

As I turned around, he yelled after me. “Oh, I will make sure I’m here, darlin’. Bright and early. By the way, my name is Lincoln, but my friends call me Link.”

“Nice to meet you, Lincoln” I smiled again, but I didn’t turn around this time because I could feel his eyes checking out my ass. These leggings make my ass look bomb; that’s why I bought them in almost every color.

He called out to me, “By the way Miss Aubrey, how old are you?”

I turned and smirked. “Why do you ask?”

“I wanna know if I’m being a dirty old man or if you are available for dinner tonight,” he said with a grin.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise and looked down at myself. “You think I look like I’m under eighteen? Really?”

He laughed. “No, I would guess around twenty-two, but you never know these days. I’m praying that I’m right. Will you go to dinner with me?”

I was stunned at the determination of this man. If I’m being honest though, it’s actually quite sexy.

“Well, how old are you, old man?” I asked with a chuckle.

“Twenty-nine years young,” he said proudly.

“Got it. Thank you for the invite, but I’m busy tonight.”

I turned and started walking toward the door again.

“Tomorrow night then.” It was a statement, not a question this time. I smiled and kept walking. “Bye, Miss Aubrey.” I heard him give a low chuckle as the door closed behind me.

CHAPTER NINE

Lincoln

“Who the hell was that and how do I get her in my bed?” I accidentally said that aloud, but luckily no one was around to hear me. She was beautiful in the most natural way. She had the most perfect smile I’ve ever seen, and those eyes…damn. They were a pretty light blue. She had curves that I wanted to explore, and don’t get me started on that ass— I shook my head to get my brain out of the gutter. At least I get to look forward to seeing her in the morning.

I knew she wasn’t local. I absolutely would have fucked her already. There aren’t many girls my age around here that haven’t already been in my bed. I couldn’t help but to wonder what the hell she wanted with my Pops that was so important. She seemed a little desperate towards the end.

I closed up the shop and headed home. I stopped in to see Mom and Pops and grabbed the leftovers I knew they had left for me. They were sitting in the den in their chairs doing some reading and online shopping. I sat down on the couch across from them.

“I think I want to paint the bathroom this color, what do you think? It’s like a mauve.” Mom said, showing Dad a picture on her computer.

Dad looked over his glasses at her screen and squinted. He does that all the time, and then wonders why he can’t see. I motioned for him to push his glasses up and he rolled his eyes at me. Then he pushed them up and looked back at what Mom was showing him.

“How do you even know if that’s what the real color will be? Those computers distort everything, don’t they?” Pops replied.

I smiled at their banter. She is always trying to get him to care about what the house looks like, but in reality he doesn’t give a rat’s ass what she does as long as she’s happy. He’s stopped asking her how much things cost because he knows he’s just going to go along with it either way.

“I don't care, I like it. It will give the room character. We can go shopping tomorrow when you get out of work,” Mom said.

“It’s a bathroom, Mom. What kind of character do you want it to have?” I asked.
