“Seb!” Luca yells before patting Ronan on the shoulder and squeezing it firmly.

Sebastian simply walks across the room and moves to pull something out of the many duffle bags they brought with them. He walks back over to his computer with what I now see as a phone in his hand. He bends over the back of the chair he was just sitting in and begins typing. After just a few moments, the phone in his hand lights up, and he walks it over to Luca, who has his hand outstretched over the back of the couch. “Same number,” Sebastian says as he places the phone in Luca’s hand, letting the tips of his fingers linger on Luca’s just a moment longer than necessary.

Luca puts the phone in Ronan’s hand. “Next person, amico.”

Ronan’s shoulders rise slowly as he takes a deep breath, trying to recenter himself. He unlocks his new phone and calls the next person on his list without saying a word.

I’ve been gone for two days now.

Correction: Logan has had me tied naked to this bed in the middle of the woods for two days now.

Two days since I’ve seen them.

Two days since I saw Ronan lying on the kitchen floor.

Two days since they took a piece of me.

Mac and Finn have to be close to finding me. There’s no way they’ve stopped looking for me since I’ve been gone. With the amount of resources they have at their disposal, they have to be close. Right?

Logan left this morning to run and get supplies while we’re here. I’ve barely slept the entire time we’ve been here. I didn’t trust that he wouldn’t do anything to me while I was unconscious. He hasn’t done much since he first brought me here, but I’m not naive enough to know he doesn’t want to. So, when he left this morning, I used the time to try and get some much-needed rest, as best as I could anyway, considering my arms and legs are still tied to the bed, and I’m fucking freezing. But any sleep is good sleep. I need to keep my strength up as much as I can.

Speaking of which, I wince as my stomach cramps from being so hungry. He hasn’t fed me a damn thing since we got here. The only provisions he’s given me are a few glasses of water and to let me get up a few times to use the bathroom. If I have any chance of getting out of here, I need to convince him to give me some food.

I didn’t even bother trying to escape once Logan left. I know I’m desperate, but I’m also not stupid. Logan took the van, and I had no chance of making it through the deep Pennsylvania wilderness with no clothes, shoes, or food. I lived in New York City my entire life; for Christ’s sake, I know nothing about how to survive in the woods. I just have to wait for the right opportunity.

“Patience, Baby.”

I hear the crunch of tires as the van pulls back up the drive, and I steel myself for Logan to come in here. Spinning Ronan’s ring around with my fingers, I listen as he makes a few trips from the van to the cabin, unloading everything he bought while he was out. The monotonous sounds of him putting everything away in the kitchen reminds me of Finn. A faint smile graces my lips for the first time in days as I remember watching him tidy up the kitchen after every meal. Making sure everything was exactly where it was supposed to be. My smile fades as quickly as it appears as I hear Logan’s footsteps draw closer to my door.

I try to twist my body in various directions, hoping to hide some of my most private areas from him, but it’s no use. Not that it matters anyway. He’s seen it all already. He unlocks the numerous locks on the door before strolling in with a cocky look on his face, like he’s God’s gift to man.

I really can’t wait to deck him.

I relax into the mattress slightly once I see he’s holding what looks like an oversized T-shirt. “I’m going to untie you so you can go to the bathroom and put this shirt on. If you behave, I’ll get you something to eat.”

Oh, thank God.

I don’t speak, just nod. I’ve barely talked to him since we got here. Mostly because I don’t trust myself not to give him attitude, and I don’t entirely want to find out what the repercussions will be, but also because he does a lot of talking on his own. I’ve noticed the less I say, the more he feels the need to fill the silence with his endless blabbering. Eventually, he’s going to slip up and tell me something useful.

Logan leads me into the bathroom, where he towers over me, yet again, while I do my business. Of course, he waits until after to give me the shirt to put on. It’s nothing fancy, but at least it covers my boobs and is long enough to hang below my ass. Regardless, Logan’s eyes linger when he notices my nipples poking out beneath the white cotton.

To my surprise, he doesn’t take me back into the bathroom but into the kitchen. He pulls me onto a stool, “Sit there and don’t move.”

My eyes immediately dart toward the countertop by the fridge, looking for the knife set I saw when he brought me in a couple of days ago. Of course, he doesn’t miss it and chuckles darkly. “Nice try, Princess. Hid them when I got back.”

“Figures,” I mumble under my breath as he walks toward the stove. Logan sets a small pot onto the lit burner and dumps out a ninety-nine-cent can of chicken noodle soup. What I wouldn’t give for one of Mac’s meals right about now.

A few minutes later, Logan plops a bowl of lukewarm soup down in front of me, along with some saltine crackers and a glass of water. At least he bothered to warm it up a little. Beggars can’t be choosers, I guess.

I quickly eat the shitty chicken noodle soup while listening to Logan talk about how annoying he thought Tanner was. “He was such a fucking stick-in-the-mud.” I feel a pang in my chest at the thought of Tanner. Logan killed him simply because he was protecting me.

He probably had a family, but I wouldn’t even know because I never even thought to ask him. I was too busy avoiding them because Logan’s stare always made me so uncomfortable. Hell, now that I think of it, I don’t even know what his last name was.

I take the last bite of soup and dramatically drop my spoon into the bowl, letting Logan know I’m finished. The sooner he takes me back into my room, away from him, the better.
