Page 94 of Dangerously Kept

I look between my brother and my best friend. The two men that I would die for, without question. Two men I know would do the same for me without blinking an eye. Two men who continuously keep me grounded when the demons of my past, of who I was made to be, constantly threaten to pull me under. Two men that mean more to me than any earthly possession I could possibly imagine. And if my life weren’t already wholly dedicated to them, what I’m about to suggest would solidify that notion. “Two things,”

Ronan and Finn look at one another and then back at me. “Okaaaay. What’s the first thing?” Finn asks as he absentmindedly picks one of Harper’s hairs off his sweatpants with a small smile. He’d be far more annoyed if it were anyone’s but hers.

I take a deep breath. Here goes nothing. “I think we should ask Harper to marry us. I mean, I know we can’t all marry her legally, but the law was never really our friend anyway. I’m in this with her, with you guys.” Finn pauses, cup of coffee halfway to his mouth, while my brother’s eyes widen. “If that’s not what you guys would want, I totally get it. Long-term, I know it isn’t the most conventional relationship, but I just thought, I just love her so much, and I know you both do, too. After everything that’s happened, everything that could still happen, I just—”

Finn lowers his cup and puts his hand on my knee. “Mac, you don’t have to explain yourself.”

“No?”

“No, man. I think I speak for both of us when I say that’s what we want.”

I look at my brother, whose small smile is filled with agreement and understanding. “Yeah?”

“I just wasn’t expecting that to be what came out of your mouth. But hell yes I want to fucking marry her.”

“All of us?” I ask, wanting to clarify that I’m not bowing out, not in this life and not in any life after.

Finn squeezes my knee. “Yeah, Mac. All of us.”

“She deserves everything good in this life,” Ronan adds, “And if it takes all three of us to make sure she gets it, then that’s what she’ll get.”

“So we’re doing this then? We’re asking Harper to marry us?”

“We’re asking Harper to marry us. Once all of this bullshit is taken care of, we’ll set it all up.” Not if, but when. Like Finn and I, my brother knows this can’t and won’t go on any longer.

Finn slaps my leg before sitting back in his chair. “What was the second thing?”

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t equally as excited about this proposition. “In the meantime, how would the two of you feel about a new tattoo?”

When I wake up, the guys aren’t in bed anymore, but my panic is short-lived when I hear them milling about the apartment. I tie my curls up in a messy bun and throw on an oversized T-shirt. Before I leave my room to find them, I turn around and put on a pair of fuzzy socks. The late fall temperatures have definitely hit the city, and being this high up in the building, I’ve started to notice the floors have a bit of a chill.

All the guys are relaxing in the den, each with a cup of coffee. Ronan’s sitting in his armchair, Finn in the one across from him, and Mac on the leather couch. “Morning,” I greet, and all of their attention is redirected to me. Suddenly, the chill I felt when I rolled out of bed is long gone.

Mac stands from his spot and shuffles over to me. “Morning, Mo Grá. Coffee?”

I smile at him, noticing he changed his nose ring for a diamond stud today. “Please.”

He places a quick kiss on my lips and heads to the kitchen.

Ronan reaches out and grabs my hand, pulling me onto his lap. “Sleep good, Baby?”

“Like a log. How long have you guys been up?” My hand runs down the lapel of Ronan’s black suit jacket before slipping into his black dress shirt with the top two buttons undone and grazing the warm skin along his chest.

“Only a couple hours. We had a few things we needed to get done before we started the day.”

“You guys eat breakfast yet?”

“Yeah, but Mac has a plate ready for you in the microwave. You can warm it up whenever you’re ready.”

Sliding my hand from his shirt, I cup his face in my hands and give him a deep kiss. I feel his cock twitch beneath me and smile against his lips. Much to his reluctance, he lets me go, and I walk over to Finn.

“Saving the best for last, Angel?” He asks as I straddle his lap.

I push a wayward clock of honey-blonde hair from his face and lean forward so my mouth is next to his ear, “Don’t tell the others.”
