I lick my lips, the taste of her still on them. Her cheeks flush like she knows just what I’m thinking.

My lip quirks up. I sure as hell hope she does. I hope it keeps her up tonight wondering what else I can do to her.

I stalk to the door. “I’m gonna let you get a little rest since it’s your day off, baby. But I’ll check in with you later.”

I walk out and shut the door. A small smile creeps onto my face and I chuckle. She has not idea that I’ve got an appointment to look at a new house for us. That’s what she needed the vehicle for. Right now she can walk to anywhere she wants to go in town but if we move outside of town like I want to, she’s gonna need a car.

I hop up into my matching black SUV with a matching car seat for Daisy in the back that makes me grin.

She can try and slow me down but this is happening and the way she came apart on my mouth lets me know she’s just as far gone as I am.

We belong together. We’re a family and I don’t care what it takes or how Daisy came to be, I’m gonna make sure that she knows who loves her and who’ll take care of her.

I’m that baby girl’s just as much as her mama’s.

I pull up at the house outside of town that I asked the realtor to see. My eyes narrow as I take a look at it.

The big farmhouse is too big for three people but if I have my way, Daisy’s gonna have a whole football team of brothers and sisters. The huge wrap-around front porch is perfect, right down to the glider swing hanging beside the railing on one side. The other side has a pair of rocking chairs with patchwork cushions that match the glider’s.

I step out and the realtor meets me. “Well, what do you think?” Her hand swings out like she’s Vanna White and she’s showing a prize that I won.

I raise a brow. “I’ve seen the porch. Which is nice but I need to see the rest.”

She flushes and her teeth sink into her bottom lip. “Sorry. It’s just that this house seems perfect for you and your family.”

Since she doesn’t know a damn thing about my family I just grunt.

Of course, with the grapevine in this little town, it’s possible that she really does know what’s going on with me and Stella. Small towns. You gotta love them.

She opens the door and leads me inside and I nod my head. It’s exactly what I saw online and it’s perfect. The big great room is graced by large windows on both sides of a gorgeous natural rock fireplace that rises all the way up to the base of a vaulted ceiling that’s crossed by raw beams that alternate with the bright white ceiling.

There’s a huge chandelier in the middle of the room that glows when the realtor, Fiona, flips the switch. It’s a bit over the top but my girl deserves every damn bit of it.

I saunter over to the kitchen that graces the corner and study the raw wood cabinets, the marble countertops and the backsplash that’s bright white subway tile speckled with shimmering silver flecks that remind me of Stella’s gray eyes.

The appliances are new and stainless steel. “They come with the house, right?” I point at the oven and fridge.

“Yes, absolutely.” She’s a nice woman and I wish that I wasn’t such an ass but right now I’m focused on one thing and one thing only.

My girl. And our new home.

“Five bedrooms? Four bathrooms?”

She nods and leads me down the hallway and then up the stairs to the bedrooms.

I nod my head. “This will do. I’ll take it.”

“Do we need to get in touch with your financial institution about getting your loan approved?”

I snort. “No. This will be cash.”

Her brows lift and her eyes sparkle voraciously. “Wonderful. Let’s draw up a contract and get this deal done.”

I nod my head and snap, “I want to make one thing clear…if anyone else tries to bid on this house, I will go five thousand above their bid, no questions asked.”

She shivers happily. “Perfect. I was going to suggest something like that.”

I smile as I study the walls around me. I can hear our family’s voices ringing in the large space. Can see our little ones running up and down the room and wrangling with each other.
