“Just like heaven.” I smiled as Ty pulled out the seat next to him. “Thank you.”

“Jesus,” he huffed from behind me, and I looked at him over my shoulder. “Nothing.” He huffed again as he took the seat next to me. I caught Savi’s grin and brow wiggle.

“How was your day?” I looked around at the guys.

“Cole tried to kill us today.” Mark dripped with sarcasm from across the table. “Apparently, because it was raining.”

“Oh, so, you had a good day, then?” I smirked, and he rolled his eyes and looked at the television with a disgusted grunt.

“You know what football season means?” Mark directed his comment to the table.

“It’s only a few months away from hockey season?” I answered.

His face morphed into a smile as he hit John’s shoulder. “God bless Frank. He sent us a hockey chick!”

Ty laughed quietly as the rest of the table broke out in banter.

“Ivy had Victor today, didn’t you, beautiful queen?” Savi snorted with laughter as Catalina held a hand to her chest dramatically.

“Victor’s hands are magical,” I breathed, and Sloane laughed as John stared her down.

“The best were his little words of encouragement while he caressed her body. ‘Yes, doll, just let your leg relax and let me into those muscles.’” Sloane high-fived Savi as they both doubled over with laughter.

“I see,” Ty muttered into his beer.

“Laugh all you want,” I shrugged, “but that man knows how to use his hands. The oil, the pressure, the sweet words. Oh, my.”

“Amen to that.” Mia hit the table in a cheer.

“And the spa days have come to an end.” Mark nodded at Ty.

“Same drink as usual?” Zack asked over the crowd, and I gave a friendly nod.

“Where were you through all this spa stuff, Quinn?” Mike turned the heat on him.

“I just kept my head down.” Quinn shrugged. “I’m under orders to protect. I would never step one foot into any of those rooms other than to clear them.”

Keith sat to one side of me, and though he was enjoying the fun, he was quiet. I decided to check on him.

“Hey,” I pulled his attention to me, “have you spoken to Lexi?”

“Yeah, I did the other day.” He cleared his throat. “We hashed out a lot of stuff over the phone. It’s easier that way. Kind of makes a good buffer for our emotions.” He shrugged.

“It’s more common than you think.” I validated his comment. “Emotions can be better controlled without the body language behind it.”

“Makes sense.” He sipped his beer. “I think there’s a part of me that knows we’re over. I just don’t want to believe it. I mean, when you consider how much we went through to get here.”

“Sometimes wanting love becomes more important than actually being in love.”

“Mm,” he nodded, “I can handle us not being us anymore, but her willingness to walk away from our kids is something I can’t wrap my head around.” He spun his phone on the table. “What, nothing to say to that?” He side-eyed me.

“Professionally? Or personally?” I huffed, and he turned to look at me.

“Both.”

“Professionally speaking, and in fairness to Lexi and all women, we really have no idea how we’ll react when we have children. I’ve had clients be over the moon excited for their baby, and when the baby came, they felt nothing. They were completely detached. Sometimes therapy helps, and other times it’s doesn’t. There are a few medications that can help, but that’s a different side of things.”

“Okay, and personally?”
