“When was this?”

“Last night,” Big Cat answered.

“Do you have a name? A photo of this guy? Anything?”

“One of my girls took this.” He pulled out his phone and stepped toward me. Both Leal and Zhen growled a warning. I waved at Jesse to hand it to me.

“Back,” I ordered the dogs as Big Cat eyed them nervously. They eased back and settled in place. Leal complained loudly. I knew how they felt; the urge to hurt someone had taken a grip on my own gut.

“That’s him getting into his car.” He moved back and grabbed Glory’s arm again. “I know the guy who runs the place and checked. The name on the guy’s credit card is Kurt Kyle. Drives a BMW 5 Series.”

“I see.” I stroked my lip as I studied the man. He was in his late twenties and wore a designer suit and a flashy watch. I couldn’t help but wonder if he purposely wanted to be overheard or if he was just stupid enough to talk in front of the dancers. Jesse handed him back his phone then passed me a bottle of hand sanitizer. Who the hell knew where the phone had been.

“I figured your guy might want to give me his number, in case I heard anything else.”

“And why, exactly, are you so willing to help me out?”

“I’m new in town, got myself some girls, and Glory told me it’s better to be on your good side than not. So, when she told me what she heard, I figured I’d better come down here and tell you right away.” He shrugged. “Don’t need any more problems.” I waved at Jesse, and he handed Vanilla Ice a card. “So, we’re good?”

“We’ll see.”

“On?”

I pulled out my gun and sat it on the armrest and watched as his brows went up and he shifted his weight on his feet.

“On what else you bring me.”

“That’s all we got,” Glory whined with an annoyed look at me.

“Then you better start digging.” I pointed the gun at them then rolled my arm to look at my watch. “Leave.” I flicked my wrist for them to go. He wasted no time as he yanked Glory out the door.

“Grim.” Jesse turned to me as he lowered his phone. I could tell something had happened. “You need to head up to the twentieth.”

I cursed and stepped down from my chair.

“With Jesse.” I ordered the dogs to stay so I could deal with whatever the hell had happened up there. Of course, Leal growled some backtalk, but when I raised a brow at him, he looked away.

I moved quickly across the marble floor and down the hall. The walls and floor were covered with soundproof material to prevent anyone listening. I wore many hats in my profession. The legit business at Indulge was handled above ground and anything else was handled below. Once Secrets was completed and my office finished, I would handle everything from up there. My new office would be much more advanced and offer me a good deal more protection than this one.

I tapped my keycard to the black pad, and the door swung open to the elevators. Once on the ground floor, I hurried through the traffic in the lobby and toward our private elevators. The casino was full this evening, and the lineup for the restaurants spilled over into the side bars that were always ready to sell a drink to waiting customers. You could smell the money that poured off them and, in turn, onto me.

“Can we chat?” Minnie appeared at my side as I approached the elevator. She matched my stride.

“Not a good time.”

“Even if it has to do with Kenna?” I hated that my pace slowed just slightly. Kenna was a pain in my ass, and if she wasn’t so damn important to the hotel, she’d be gone.

“What’d she do now?”

“I really love this whole enemies-to-lovers thing you got going on.”

“What?” She was clawing her way into my head like she always did when something was up.

“You asked me to keep tabs on your clients when they’re off your property, remember?”

“I did.” Minnie was everywhere and had a sharp eye. She also had her own spies, I was sure.

“Mr. Salazar had dinner at Smith Wollensky last night.”
