“So I’m keeping that money. And you’re gonna turn around and walk out that door. And you’re never going to bother me again.”

He pauses for a beat, like he can’t believe she’s saying this shit to him. That she’d dare to yell at him. He looks at her like he doesn’t even know her before letting out a scoffing laugh that’s all mockery.

Motherfucker.

I growl, pushing my way through the wall to stand beside Rachel.

“Get outta here.” I point to the door behind him, my voice shaking as I try to contain the volcano bubbling in my chest.

Theo’s smirk is so fucking punchable, and I’m not sure how much longer I can hold out before unleashing a little hell on his ass.

“Don’t give him the satisfaction,” Rachel murmurs. “Theo, just go.”

He scoffs again, shaking his head before pointing at her. “Fuck you.” He leans forward with an arrogant scowl. “Fuck you, Rach! Fuck! You!”

“Oh, that’s it,” I snap, lunging forward and grabbing Theo by the collar. Smacking him against the door, I push my forearm into his chest and snarl, “You say one more word to her, you even look at her again, and I will end you. And no one will be able to save you from what I have planned, you understand me?”

His glare is dark and malignant. “Is that a threat?”

“It’s a guarantee,” I seethe, nice and slow so there can be no misunderstanding. I’m not sure what my face is doing, but it must be reflecting some of the anger pulsing through me, because finally he gets the fucking point.

A flash of uncertainty skitters through his eyes before he wrestles me off him and shoves the door open.

“Fuck you all!” he yells, raising his middle finger at us before disappearing into the hallway.

“Yeah, I don’t think so,” Ethan mutters, stepping past me and chasing after the guy.

I have no idea what he’s got planned, but I can’t go.

Right now, the only thing I have to do is turn and make sure my girl’s okay.

My strong, brave, beautiful woman.

Her chest is heaving, and I can see a red welt forming on her cheekbone. It makes me want to crush Theo’s head with my bare hands, but I let that rage travel through me quickly before stepping into her space.

He can’t take this moment from us.

I won’t let him blacken a thing of beauty.

Lightly cupping her cheeks, I brush my thumb under the red spot below her eye and smile down at her. Her watery grin is gorgeous, and my chest swells with a mix of pride and adoration.

“Good girl,” I whisper, sliding my thumb over her bottom lip. “You made him bleed.”

CHAPTER 45

RACHEL

I did make Theo bleed.

Go me.

The thought fills me with pride but still doesn’t eradicate the shakes. At least I’m steady on my feet, though.

Curling myself into Liam’s embrace, I close my eyes and feel his heartbeat against my chest. He sprinkles kisses across my forehead and keeps telling me how proud he is, how strong and amazing I am.

I do feel kind of strong, actually. I stood up to Theo. I fought him.

And now I have an army of half-naked guys chasing after my tormentor. In fact, my actual boyfriend is butt naked, but he doesn’t seem to care. He’s too busy making sure I’m okay.
