After a few exchanges of words, she turned away from him and continued dancing. Then he did the most stupid thing by grabbing her wrist. My adrenaline pumped faster than the speed of light as I rushed out of my seat. Adrienne had kicked him in the balls before I reached where they were. The fucker raised his hand to hit her, but I caught it mid-air.

“You have a problem with my wife?” I growled.

His stupidity must’ve stared him back in his fucking face because terror overtook the boldness he had when he was harassing my woman. “Wife?” He glanced at Adrienne and then at me. “I’m sorry, I swear I didn’t know she was yours.”

“Now you know.” A wicked smile crossed my face. “And you’ll pay for your recklessness.”

Adrienne held my arm. “Just let him go, I’m sure he didn’t mean to.”

I shot her a glare to silence her. I didn’t appreciate how she made excuses for jackasses all the time.

“Kneel and beg,” I said to the guy.

He got on his knees without hesitation. It amused me how idiots like him had no issue harassing women but would easily crumble to their knees in front of men like me. “I’m sorry,” he stuttered. “I didn’t know you were his, I swear.”

Adrienne peered around the club. Nearly all eyes were on us. she didn’t accept or decline his apology, but I thought to give him something he’d remember me for.

I removed the blade I always carried around from my pocket. “Choose a finger.”

He started trembling, tears filling his eyes. “No, please—”

“I’ll take it that you want me to make a choice for you.” I took the index finger on the hand he’d used to touch my woman, pressed my blade to it, and watched as it slowly parted his knuckles. His screams were silenced by the loud music, his blood poured like smoke from an old engine. I didn’t stop till half of his finger was on the floor.

I leaned close to his ear, satisfied with my cruelty. “Don’t ever touch a woman who doesn’t want to be touched by you.” He was still yelling from pain when I wiped his disgusting blood on his black shirt to clean my blade before sliding it back into my jacket.

I was met with Adrienne’s unflinching look when I turned at her. She had her hands crossed angrily over her chest and she glared at me as if she wanted to reach out to break my neck.

“What now?” I asked, sensing the anger that was steaming from her stare.

She hissed and walked away, making me chase after her while yelling her name like I was a fucking lunatic. “Why the hell are you mad at me?” I grabbed her by the arm when we reached the red hallway leading to my office and swiveled her so she could look at me.

“Are you serious?” she bellowed. “You just chopped off a man’s finger and you’re asking why the hell I’m mad at you?”

“He touched you.”

“That isn’t enough reason to chop off his damned fingers,” she retorted with a deafening roar. “For God’s sake Andrei, must you react violently to send a message across?

“What do you want me to do?” I placed my hand on the wall above her. “Seeing another man breathe the same air you do infuriates me, let alone watching one touch you.”

Something twinkled in her eyes, as if her anger was melting away. “God, Andrei.” She raised her hand, touching my cheeks very delicately. “I don’t think I can bear to see another woman touch you, I’d be damned before I let that happen, but I can’t kill or hurt everyone that tries to because I trust you enough to know you wouldn’t do something that’d hurt me.”

I kissed her and slid a hand around her waist. “I won’t do that anymore if it bothers you.” That was a lie, I’d do it over and over again, just not in her presence.

“Fine,” she nodded.

“Fine,” I repeated after her. My cock was reacting to her presence. I leaned in for a kiss before I heard the most annoying voice ever.

“Brother.”

I hit the wall in frustration before looking over to the source of the annoying voice. Dimitri and Isidor were standing in front of the mahogany door leading into my office. “What the fuck do you want.”

“There’s a problem,” Mikhail’s voice chimed in as he joined us. “Dante Paolo knows where his daughter is.” His eyes were on Adrienne. I could sense his dislike for her, but I knew he wouldn’t hurt her, because she was mine.

“You didn’t think to tell me earlier?”

“I’d have told you if only you picked up your damn cell.”

I put my hand into my pocket and removed my phone. I had ten missed calls from Mikhail and six more from Dimitri.
