“Should have done that at the restaurant,” Grey murmured.

He was right, better late than never.

Sighing, I called Markin, who answered after the third ring.

“Situation, Agent Ware,” he barked down the phone.

Of course, Markin knew it was business. He and I weren’t bosom buddies.

“Lamar Evertt, he’s in Camden. We’ve got eyes on him,” I whispered.

“Are you fucking kidding me? You and the boy wonder go away for a dirty weekend and find a Top Ten?” Markin burst out.

“Wasn’t my plan,” Grey retorted quietly.

“Back-ups on its way. If you get a clear shot, take him down. If not, wait,” Markin ordered and cut the line.

“Typical,” I murmured.

Grey moved into position beside me as we watched a window where we could see two silhouettes.

One was much smaller than Lamar, and Grey growled as Lamar raised a hand and brought it down.

The other person was knocked off their feet, and after exchanging a glance with Grey, I knew we were going in.

Chapter Five.

Grey

“Through the front?” Willow asked.

“Yup,” Grey replied grimly. He dug into his pocket and pulled out his lock picks.

Willow’s eyes widened before a grin crossed her face. “Always prepared,” she teased as she kicked her shoes off, and they started to move forward.

They kept an eye out for motion sensors and lights but managed to get to the front door without being detected. Now, up close, they could hear Lamar bellowing at someone, and their amusement fled.

There was a sharp female cry of pain, and Grey didn’t wait as he bent down and began to pick the lock. A minute later, there was a click, and the door swung silently open.

Willow nodded at Grey and took the lead.

They moved through the vast hall, their footsteps hushed, and headed towards the sound of shouting.

A door opened, and a butler exited. He gazed at them and opened his mouth when he saw their weapons. Willow shook her head and whipped up her skirt and pulled her badge.

The man peered at her before nodding and moving backwards.

The shrieking grew louder, and a female could be heard defending herself against the bile Lamar was spewing.

Willow glanced around a doorway and nodded at Grey.

She moved to the other side while Grey counted down on his fingers.

Three. Two.

One.

“Freeze, FBI!” Willow shouted, entering the room with her weapon trained on Lamar.
