I had no idea why he behaved like this, but I could only assume it was to make Reign jealous—something I didn’t want him to do.

Reign couldn’t hide his feelings well; occasionally, he’d snap an answer out or blank Mr West entirely. I remembered what Zeus said—if anything happened, not to tell Reign, so I didn’t.

Deep in my core, my instincts told me something had gone down between Mr West and Reign, and I was torn between wanting to know and running a mile.

In all honesty, I was exhausted.

Mentally and psychically.

Sex with Zeus was like a workout—as pleasurable as it was, my body ached from the different positions, muscles I hadn’t used in a long time being put to use made me delirious with tiredness.

I remembered how he’d made me scream his name, and I let out a dreamy sigh, capturing the attention of the two men sitting across and beside me.

Part of me craved Tye, my gentle, tattooed giant. He could make all my worries disappear with those delicious, muscular arms and his sweet and caring demeanour, which needed bottling up and distributing worldwide.

He’d been fantastic through my breakup with Brandon and texted me daily to see how I was doing.

“Elizabeth?” Reign interrupted my thoughts, and I looked up to find Mr West deep in conversation with Ray Mathias.

My stomach churned at the memory of Larissa in the limo, and Reign’s brow furrowed with concern.

“Are you ready to leave?”

“Uh, yeah. Now?” I squeaked out, aware that Mr West was watching us intently.

What can he say? He’s my boss, not my husband.

“I think it’s a fine idea.” Ray declared, clapping Mr West on the back heartily. “I’ll send you the invite; Lord knows Barb likes to get creative.”

I swallowed when Mr West's gaze fell on me, but more importantly, Reign’s hand was slipping around my waist.

“Going somewhere nice?” Mr West asked, baring his teeth in a cruel smile.

Reign stiffened, but I nodded, smiling at Ray, who made his excuses about having to get home to his lovely wife.

“It’s none of your concern,” Reign muttered, tugging me close.

Mr West rolled his eyes and addressed me.

“Be careful, Lizzie. Not all wolves come to the party in their natural state. Some wear masks.”

With that, he turned and strode out the door, attracting the attention of the women around us.

“Ignore him,” Reign commanded, but his eyes showed the battle within.

“How do you know him?” I asked as Reign turned his full attention to me.

His eyes searched mine, his hand pressing into the small of my back as he inhaled my scent, taking me against him.

My body reacted by curving against him like a cat, arching and stretching as he stroked my face.

“Let’s just say we used to be friends.” Reign blinked, and the battle left his eyes, replaced by the heated gaze that sent me wild.

“What happened?”

Reign sighed, his minty breath sending shivers down my spine.

“Alexander is a wrecking ball, Elizabeth. He destroys everything he touches, and I don’t want him to touch you. At all.” His voice dropped, the husky undertones wrapped in romance and desire before slipping into my ear. “But I want to touch you. All over.”
