“My clothes. It’s fine; if you go downstairs, I’ll get sorted.”
“Elizabeth, what’s happened? Why won’t you turn around?”
Elizabeth’s eyes widened, and she shook her head.
“Just go downstairs, Reign?”
“Why aren’t you answering me?” I snapped as nausea swept through me.
“Because!” Elizabeth pushed me away, but her eyes deceived her.
“Has someone hurt you, Elizabeth?”
I dipped around her to the bed, handing her a t-shirt. She tugged it on, and I sat on the bed, patting for her to join me.
“I’ll stand,” she said, her bottom lip quivering.
“Fine.” I gripped her hips, tugging her stomach to my mouth as she gasped. “If you don’t talk to me, maybe your body will.”
My hands slid down to her bum, and she hissed, her hands shoving mine away instantly.
I looked up at her, at the pain etched on her face.
Darkness threatened to take over, and I couldn’t help but twirl her around, the sight of her bruised and beaten bum snuffing out all the light.
“Don’t get mad,” Elizabeth pleaded.
The damaged blood vessels beneath the usual porcelain skin led to dark blue and yellow discolouration pools, the fingerprints on her stirring my rage into something equally ugly.
“Reign, it’sfine.”
My fingers traced the outline of the damage, and she inhaled sharply.
Whoever did this was a sadist, and I only knew one sadist who could access her, and I was praying I was wrong.
Please, let me be wrong.
“Who did this to you?”
Elizabeth moved back, grabbing her clothes from around the room as she dressed.
I swallowed and closed my eyes, trying to keep calm.
“Please come home with me, Elizabeth.”
To my surprise, Elizabeth nodded without meeting my eyes.
“As long as you stay with me and don’t lose your shit.”
I smile faintly, promising her that I won’t. Lying through my teeth, not that she knew.
“Reign?” Elizabeth stood before me, yet it sounded like she was a million miles away.
FLASHBACK
“Harder, yes,harder!”
My eyes meet AJ's over her head, and he waits for my permission.
