“Whew,” Isotta squealed.

“What?” Massimo asked, turning back to look at her, feeling the hesitation in her hand.

“The water is kind of chilly.”

“Just a little,” Massimo replied. “Here. Let me help you get adjusted.”

Massimo bent down on his knees and lifted a hand full of water up, splashing it on Isotta’s legs.

“Massimo!” She squealed, snatching her leg away and backpedaling just a step. But Massimo was not dissuaded. He reached down again and lifted another handful of water, splashing it on her.

She yelped again and tried to wriggle away, but Massimo smiled and walked up to where Isotta was, picking her up and folding his thickly corded arm around her.

“Massimo!” Isotta squealed. She couldn’t contain the laughter that brimmed on her lips. “Massimo!”

He padded back toward the water. Isotta held on tight to him for fear of being dropped, all the while protesting and giggling as he carried her.

“Shall I put you down then?” Massimo guffawed after he was knee-deep in water.

“No, no!” Isotta laughingly protested. “Place me on the yacht, please!”

Zeus chuckled as he watched the two’s antics.

Massimo made his way to the yacht. Isotta lifted up her legs, wrapping them around Massimo’s waist to avoid getting wet. He got close to the yacht, close enough for Isotta to lower her legs in the safety of the inside. Before he fully let her go, Massimo bent down on his knees and lifted up a handful of water, splashing it on Isotta.

“Ahh!” She yelped. “I’m gonna get you for that!” Isotta threatened with a laugh on her lips.

“Promises, promises,” Massimo chuckled in response.

Zeus shook his head as he climbed onto the yacht. He, too, had a laugh on his lips.

“And we are off,” Zeus announced.

Massimo reached over and pulled Isotta close as they sat down for the ride out. She was still fussing and laughing. Massimo reached over and gently wiped the water from her, smoothing it down and warming up her skin. She rested against his strong shoulder as Zeus guided the yacht out into the deeper sea. The space that they occupied was lovely, and the space they entered was even lovelier. The blue of the ocean met with the brown of the sand, the green of the trees, and, in the distance, the lighter blue of the sky. It was all kissed by the sun as it moved higher in the sky, taking its rightful place.

“Are you ready for a bit of adventure?” Zeus said as he idled the yacht.

“What did you have in mind?” Massimo asked.

“Well, a bit of parasailing.”

“Parasailing?” Isotta asked.

“Yes, my lady, parasailing,” Zeus seconded. “Just imagine floating out high in the sky, the wind caressing your skin as you move through the air.”

Isotta drew back a little, her brow pitched. “Sounds amazing?”

“Yes, it does,” Massimo agreed.

“Well, I’m going to get the side boat ready. You two meet me down on the first floor in about five minutes, and I will get you all ready to parasail.”

They watched as Zeus made his exit.

“Parasailing sounds like fun,” Massimo said as he lifted his frame from the yacht’s built-in bench.

“It sounds a little frightening,” Isotta replied as she took Massimo’s extended hand and stood to her full height. “But exciting,” she added so she didn’t sound like a downer.

Massimo spun Isotta on her heels until she came face to face with him.
