“I promise you. It will be fun.”

He didn’t wait for any further objection, taking Isotta by the hand and leading her down to the deck where Zeus was waiting. All Isotta could do was hope for the best. She wanted to be brave, but it would be a challenge being suspended in mid-air.

“Alright, you two. Let me get you strapped up,” Zeus said.

He took Massimo first, applying the straps over his torso and making sure they were snug and secure.

“And now I’m going to instruct Massimo on how to strap you in. It’s more appropriate that way,” Zeus instructed.

Zeus did just that, and Massimo did what he said, being careful with Isotta.

“Alright. Now, I’m going to drive out, and when I get up enough speed, the sail will open, and then you’ll be lifted up into the air. Remember to hold on to the bar, but other than that, try to enjoy.”

“Are you excited, my love?” Massimo asked.

Isotta looked at him when he referred to her that way. Her eyes softened in response, and she lost all sight of the fear she felt. All she could manage was a nod of the head. If she dared speak, Isotta feared that a lump would be in her throat. How he referred to her was so endearing.

“All right, the boat is picking up speed,” Zeus announced. Isotta could already feel the breeze against her face.

“Here, take my hand,” Massimo suggested. “That way, you’ll feel safe.”

Isotta offered no protest as she laced her fingers between his and held Massimo’s hand tightly. Then, Isotta felt like she was being lifted into the air. Indeed, she was as the boat sped up just enough for the wind to extend the parasail and lift both her and Massimo into the air.

“Woo,” she uttered lowly, almost to herself. She wasn’t afraid, feeling Massimo’s fingers intertwined with hers. Isotta closed her eyes and enjoyed the wind blowing against her skin. It was so refreshing that Isotta found herself smiling uncontrollably.

“You’re enjoying yourself?” Massimo asked as he engaged her face.

“Surprisingly, yes,” Isotta smiled.

There was no need for extended conversation as they both enjoyed floating in the air. Isotta looked over at the land they moved by, enjoying the look of the trees and the land that lay just beneath. The sun felt warm against her skin, and Isotta basked in it. The duo spent well more than an hour free-floating in the midday air.

And when they dismounted, settling back onto the boat, Isotta immediately missed being in the air.

“That was wonderful,” she mused as Massimo unstrapped her. “I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.

“And you? Did you enjoy yourself?” She asked.

“I did.”

They spent the rest of the afternoon on the yacht sunbathing, enjoying fresh fruit and wine, and getting to know each other better.

“If you had one dream, what would it be?” Isotta asked in an effort to get to know her husband better.

“One dream?”

“Yes, Massimo, only one,” Isotta grinned.

“Hmm,” he thought, being careful to say something truthful but also being mindful not to sound self-centered. “I think if I had one dream, it would be to tour the world, explore new sights, take one adventure, and just be free.”

“That sounds like a wonderful dream,” Isotta thought.

“Let me ask you the same question,” Massimo continued. “If you had one dream, what would it be?”

She hadn’t expected Massimo to turn the question back to her. She had to think for a moment, also wanting to be honest but also being mindful of not saying anything that would hurt his feelings.

“If I had one dream,” Isotta began, “it would be to see my sister again.”

Her tone and the look in Isotta’s eyes piqued Massimo’s curiosity. He felt for her because she sounded and looked so sad.
