He slides it onto my finger, and a giant round of applause breaks out behind us. I turn to see my siblings lined up with Fiona on Jackson’s shoulders. He puts her down, and she runs at me, screaming, “I love happily ever afters! Yay!”

“Aw, sweetie.” I bend down to where Colin is still kneeling and pull her into my arms. His arms encircle us both. “You’re so right. I love them too.”

Fiona wriggles out of my grasp and soberly tells me, “I need to give you some space so you can kiss.” I look at Jackson, who’s rolling his eyes with the biggest grin on his face.

Then I turn to Colin, who looks at me with so much love that my heart melts. And I’m fine with that because my heart belongs to him.

“Kiss. Him!” Fiona squeals.

“You heard the lady,” Colin says, cupping my chin in his hand. When our lips meet, I know it’s right.

I know it’s forever.
