“I have no idea.”

“That’s fine. Vincent can get all that,” she replied. “I can get Emilio to do his thing, and if we can’t track her through her phone, we can search hotels in Port Lucia and any cameras near Lennon’s house. We can always track her from there.”

“Yeah, there’s no way that she’d be in Port Lucia and not visit Lennon,” I agreed.

“Give us about an hour.”

“I might be on a plane by then, so if I don’t answer, that’ll be why,” I informed her.

“No problem.”

“Thanks, Ria,” I said sincerely, meaning every word.

“Good luck, Kill,” she replied kindly. “I think that you’re going to need it.”

Chapter 33

Posie~

The noise and bustle were a welcomed distraction. At first, I had needed peace and quiet to figure out my next step, but after that phone call with Killian earlier, peace and quiet were the last things that I needed.

So, after Killian had hung up on me, I had called Lennon to ask her what she was doing. With Crew back from his latest concert tour, they were all at her parents’ house, the whole damn family. Well, the entire Marlow branch at any rate. According to Lennon, there was supposed to be a big family get-together his weekend and their family gatherings weren’t for the faint of heart. There were just so damn many of them, and when you threw in the third generation of kids…well, it was a lot of people, no matter how big the mansion. Also, with being in Port Lucia for the time being, I was expected to attend.

“You know, this wouldn’t feel so overwhelming if you’d come around more often,” Zane Marlow said as he threw his arm around my shoulders.

I looked up at the man’s crazy-gorgeous face. “Your entire family was born overwhelming,” I countered. “Nothing’s changed from when I first met Lennon.”

Zane grinned. “A lot’s changed,” he replied. “There was a time when you’d barely talk to any of us, and now look at you.”

I choked out a laugh. “You’re such a handful.”

Zane winked at me. “Just ask my wife.”

“Uh, I’d rather not,” I muttered, my ears turning red. For whatever reason, familiarity was still hard for me sometimes. It was just hard to believe that this beautiful family belonged to me, and that they didn’t see me as less than blood.

With his arm still anchored around my shoulders, Zane said, “Heard about your man troubles.”

“Of course, you did,” I grumbled, and he just laughed.

“You should know by now that there are no secrets in this family,” he said pointedly.

“I know,” I muttered. Eyeing him, I asked, “What all do you know?”

“Not sure about all the maritals, but the family knows everything that Lennon knows,” he answered seriously. “And I don’t have to tell you that it’s a lot to know.”

Even though they were all one family, when things got serious or…sketchy, the family was separated into two parts: blood and marriage. The blood lines of the family went to great lengths to protect those who had married into the family from the…more serious side of their lives. Not always comfortable with the dark side of being a Reed, Marlow, McIntire, or McCellan, the maritals-as they were referred to-were kept out of the loop a lot, living in their own little worlds, pretending that they hadn’t married psychopaths. Well, except for Athena. Athena Marlow was very aware that she was married to a psychopath, having married Crew when they’d still been in high school. Well, I guess Aunt Emerson was also the other exception, though she didn’t stay in the background the way that Athena did.

Before I could agree that this thing with Killian was a lot, Dash came walking into the kitchen and he looked ready for war. Granted, he always looked serious, but right now, he looked really serious.

“What’s up?” Zane asked, removing his arm from around my shoulders.

“Killian Warrick is at the door,” he announced, and I could feel my entire body turn cold.

“What?” I whispered in surprise.

“How in the fuck did he get past the gate?” Zane asked, and I could feel a chill run down my spine, wondering the same thing.

“He hopped the fucking fence,” Dash answered, and it was safe to say that we were finally in crazy town.
