“No, it’s fine. I was up.”

“You got home okay?”

“Yeah, a few hours ago. We had a layover, and the second flight was delayed, so it took a lot longer than expected, but I’m good now.”

“Hey, can I ask you something?”

“Uh… Sure?”

“Do you have a McDonald’s in your mansion?”

Chandler laughed, which made Belle smile, and it broke the obvious tension between them.

“No, I do not. And it’s not a mansion, Belle; it’s a house.”

“How many bedrooms does it have?”

“Um… Enough.”

“More or less than ten?”

“More. But it’s my parent’s house, not mine.”

“And you like living at home?”

“They don’t really live here, so it’s basically mine and Cat’s.”

“Does she have the east wing or the west?”

“The north,” Chandler replied.

Belle laughed and said, “Touché.”

“So, all you wanted to know is whether or not I have a McDonald’s here?”

“No, I also wanted to know about the pool. Indoor or outdoor?”

“Both. Indoor for the winter.”

“Oh, of course,” Belle teased.

“Belle, it’s late. I’m tired. I don’t mind joking with you, but maybe on a day where I haven’t spent nine hours in an airport or on a plane.”

“Right. Sorry,” Belle said.

“Are you at home right now? It sounds echoey. Is that a word?”

“I’m in my office still. And, yeah, it’s the ceiling. It makes it sound like that.”

“You’re not sleeping there, are you?”

“No, I just got done. I told you. I’ll go home soon.”

“Okay. Well, that makes me feel better, at least.”

“Chandler?”

“Yeah?”
