My parents and I walked back home in silence, and Mom went straight to bed to cry some more. I went to my own room, feeling like an asshole.
Luca:

I think we both have to sleep off some of these feelings

It’ll all look brighter in the morning

Luca:
I’ll probably take you up on that
My parents might see you though
Sunshine:
They’ve seen me there before
I’ve got too many hours to myself so I’m all yours
I couldn’t help but smile. Luna was all mine, and even if she didn’t want to admit it to herself, it was impossible for me to not read between the lines. Or maybe that was just wishful thinking because of how badly I wanted to be all hers.
Iwas eyeballs-deep in planning my trip with Luca for the spring festival. The town had so many cute things to do. It was a shame we couldn’t stay longer, but I was still going to pick up my nieces on Sunday afternoon for auntie time. At least we would get to do breakfast that morning and spend two glorious nights out of town. I was going to steal Luca right after his family birthday dinner on Friday, and then it would be just us where not a soul knew who we were.
A notification from Nicky popped up, interrupting my research.

Tony is having a pancake breakfast for his campaign on the 18th
Would you be able to volunteer to help for it?
I was already going to love you forever but I’ll super extra love you if you say yes
I wrestled with myself while I stared at the message. I had no doubt that she had to have asked Luca as well, and he would have a much harder time wiggling out of it than I would.
