I know it’s super early :(
People get to start eating by 6:30
Gross. Who wanted to get up that early to eat pancakes outside? Nicky must really love her packmate to even contemplate a morning like that. It wasn’t that much earlier than I got up for my day job, and if it was a standard weekend for me I could head there straight from the club, but this wasn’t a regular weekend. This was my first trip with Luca.
I sighed, running my fingers through my curls, huffing when they tangled. Before replying to her, I messaged Luca.
Luna:
Did Nicky rope you into helping with the pancake breakfast?
Luca:
I haven’t answered her yet
It’s the same weekend we’re going away :(
I haven’t told anyone about that part either. I’ve never gone away by myself and I wasn’t sure how hard I would get grilled if I said I couldn’t go because I was going somewhere
I sighed, digging my fingers into my scalp to try to ward off the headache now threatening me. We could make it work, but we would have to drive back the night before. No relaxing Sunday morning breakfast, or stargazing on the Saturday night, unless we counted through the windshield.
Luna:
Probably better if we agree
Not that I’m excited to get up at the ass crack of dawn to volunteer for someone I barely know
I’ll do it
But I’m gonna complain about it
Luca:
??
I don’t blame you one bit
Okay I’ll tell her I can
I switched over to Nicky’s message.
Luna:
There better be coffee if you want me coherent
Nicky:
Yay!!!
Thank you!!!
We’ll have all the coffee and muffins you could want
I returned forlornly to my research, erasing Sunday morning and Saturday night on the itinerary. We couldn’t even leave earlier because Luca already had dinner planned with his family and canceling on them would cause a mountain of questions. Of course the one time I planned something for myself in years, it would get derailed. The universe was fun like that.
With a sigh I switched back to Luca’s message.
