“This is part of why I think you would do well in a pack,” Auggie said. “All those incomes supporting everyone.”

“I can support myself.”

“I’m not saying you can’t. It would just be nice if you were in a situation where you could take some time off and not worry.”

“I think we all know that worrying is one of my specialties.”

“Therapy,” Auggie stage-whispered at me.

I whipped out my foot and nudged him backward with my toes.

“Rude.” Auggie laughed from his sprawled position. “I’m looking out for you.”

“I know you are, and I appreciate it.” With a huff, I pried myself off the floor. “I should go get ready for class.”

“We should get ready for class. I’m going to hog your attention at it tonight.”

“Don’t you always?”

Auggie gasped dramatically. “Are you not-so-subtly implying I’m an attention whore?”

“I mean, if the shoe fits.” I leaned down to kiss his cheek, side-stepping when he tried to pull me down with him. “You’re in good company, though.”

“Okay,” said Candy, “you two have to get if you’re going. I need to sanitize the poles for the class coming in.”

“You’ve got it, sweets. We’ll get out of your hair.” Auggie patted my butt as I pushed through the door to the stairs.

“That would cost you if we were at the club.”

“I get special butt-touching privilege.”

“That’s true, you do.”

“Me and your mystery boy.”

“It’s a very short list. Everyone else has to pay premium.”

Auggie laughed as he swept past me into his own car, leaning out the window to wave to me. “See you at class, babe.”

Sunshine:

Do you work tonight?

Luca:

Half shift. I’ll be done at 7

What’s up?

Sunshine:

Want to come to aerial silks?

Luca:

Absolutely

If Luna wanted to spend extra time with me, then I was going to leap at the opportunity. It didn’t matter that I would probably embarrass myself on the silks; I would get to see that joy on her face as she taught others.
