“So what do you think?” Allie asked as class ended and she hopped over the mats toward me. “Like it enough to report back to your boss?”

“Definitely. She’s been talking about a second location, and if we could get something with a high enough ceiling, we could consider aerial silks.”

“That’s awesome! There’s not a lot of teachers for it around here, so Luna’s got a wicked waitlist. It’ll be nice to give people more opportunity to take classes.”

“Talking about me?” Luna asked as she popped up behind Allie.

“Always.” Allie laughed.

“How long is the waitlist?” I asked.

“Oh, hell, I think we’re up to two hundred that have expressed interest.”

“Holy shit.”

“Yeah, it’s a lot. I’d basically have to work this full time to accommodate everyone since there’s only room for eight students per class. I’d personally prefer only six so I can keep a better eye on people.”

“Well, thanks for scooting me ahead of all of them so I could try it.”

“You’re more than welcome.” Luna’s soft smile had my chest tightening. “How did you like it?”

“I need to work on my upper body strength,” I said with a laugh. “I can see it being a ton of fun, though.”

“You’ll get there,” she promised.

Allie nodded, grinning. “Yep, yep. Just takes practice. I’ve been trying to convince Sidney to join me.”

“He’s resistant?”

“He has a low inversion tolerance. That’s it, right?” Allie asked, turning to Luna.

“Yeah, he’s not great at being upside down or spinning, and while I love him for loving Allie, I have no interest in cleaning up any cookies he tosses while he’s here.”

My laugh caught me off guard. “You mean there’s actually something out there I could be better at than him?”

“I’m sure the list of things you’re better at is longer than you think,” said Luna.

“Luca, you’re so cute!” Allie gushed.

Heat flooded my cheeks. “How so?”

“You’re being very little brother right now. I don’t have siblings so it’s always fascinating to me when I can see the dynamics at work. But Luna’s right. I mean, I obviously think Sidney is pretty perfect, but I’m sure there’s plenty of things you’re better at.” Her gaze flickered to the big clock on the wall. “Oh, I should get going. We’re trying out a tapas place tonight. Do either of you want to come?”

“I require sleep,” Luna replied, “but I appreciate the offer. Try everything so you can recommend me the best stuff when we go.”

“Can do. Luca?”

“Nah, you two have fun. I had a long day.”

“Okie dokie. Later gators!” Allie bounded off, collecting her bag and leaving the studio.

The rest of the class had cleared out as well, leaving Luna and I alone. We stared at one another for a long moment, and before I could open my mouth, she asked, “Do you want to come over? Or was that excuse for me too?”

“The answer to ‘Luca, do you want to come over?’ is always going to be a yes when it’s coming from you.”

Her cheeks flushed a beautiful pink, and if we hadn’t still been in a semi-public space I’d have given in to the urge to kiss her.

“Come on, then. I’ll meet you at the apartment.”
