I growl at my phone as I hit send on the last message, “Must I do everything myself?”
Cole Spencer is a problem that needs to be dealt with. He has a part to play in this game, and it’s time he learned just how serious his roll is in it.
I scroll through my contacts and hit call next to the name of my less than willing spy.
“Hello,” he says, picking up on the third ring. “Hang on, it’s too loud in here.” The sounds of people talking, things being moved around in the background muffles as though he’s placed his hand over the speakerphone.
“What do you want?” he barks, coming back on the call.
“It’s time,” I tell him, not rising to his level of ire.
“I already told you, I’m not playing your game. Forget it, I won’t hurt Cole.”
A dark, humorless laugh escapes me. Does he really believe he can tell me how things will be?
“Oh son, you forgot your place. You will do as I say, because if you don’t …” I leave the comment open-ended, he knows what’s at risk if he defies me. “You have two options, seduce her or bring her to me. The choice is yours. You have one week to decide.”
