“Welcome back.”

I return their greeting and resist the urge to roll my eyes when Chloe stares past me at the man who isn’t far behind me. Has she no shame?

Then again, have I because I’m guessing I’m no different from her. I lusted after one brother and now it appears my attention has shifted to another.

I take my seat and Adonis sits opposite me and, as Chloe hands us both a glass of champagne, I sigh inside.

This is it. The end of the road because I’m in no doubt at all this is game over for me. For now, anyway.

Adonis is quieter than Apollo. He doesn’t attempt conversation and appears to be brooding about something. As we take off, I gaze out of the window with a whole lot of regret because I could have stayed here forever. Maybe I should take off to our villa as I intended and spend a few days getting my head straight. It’s certainly an attractive idea and I really should give it some consideration.

As soon as the seatbelt signs goes off, Chloe appears with more champagne and a written invitation in her eye directed at the man opposite me.

He catches her eye and then looks away, lifting the champagne to his lips and draining the glass before handing it back to her.

He gazes through the window, and I notice she hovers uncertainly, and he says gruffly, without looking at her, “That will be all.”

If anything, she seems shocked at that and a little hurt if I’m honest and as she catches my eye, I smile to make her feel better.

She returns it but it’s barely there and as she leaves, I unfasten my belt and say casually, “Excuse me.”

He says nothing and doesn’t even tear his eyes from the clouds, and I follow Chloe through the curtain on the pretense of using the restroom.

I find her with Christos in the galley and they look at me in surprise.

“Sorry guys, I hope you don’t mind, but can I grab a glass of water?”

“Of course.” Christos smiles and heads to the trolley to remove a bottle of water and I smile at Chloe.

“Another journey, another man.”

She smiles thinly. “I hope you enjoyed your trip.”

I’m getting serious cold shoulder vibes, and she says coolly, “If I may leave you with Christos, I should check on the meals.”

She heads off and Christos laughs softly.

“What’s so funny?” I unscrew the cap on the water, and he shakes his head with an amused glint in his eye.

“She doesn’t like being ignored.”

“By Adonis?”

He’s the obvious culprit, and he grins. “Chloe enjoys her job. She takes it very seriously and takes it personally if she can’t fulfill her whole set of duties.”

“Which are?” He shakes his head.

“It’s not for me to say.”

“So, her duties–” I smile slyly, “Does she offer the same service to all her passengers?”

“Not all of them.” He laughs softly. “Only the male ones get the full package.”

“All of them?”

My eyes widen and he shrugs. “If your name is Constantine, then, yes.”

I cast my mind back to my flight out here and feel like a fool. My expression must reveal that because Christos places his hand on my arm and whispers, “These men have no emotion. It’s purely physical, never emotional with them.”
