Asher’s bond is always full of awe, like he can’t believe I’m there with them.

Davis is a constant barrage of love and lust. It’s a wonder that he has room to feel anything else.

Topher. Well, Topher makes my heart skip and butterflies dance. He’s the first of them I fell in love with the moment I met him in the woods all those years ago. I knew I wanted him to be mine. And now he is.

Jackson hums against my mouth, nips my lip, and then pulls back. “You need to get ready.”

I shake my head sadly. “I know. I tried telling Ford that, but he just wouldn’t listen.” My alpha’s mouth falls open in shock and I laugh. “What? It’s true!”

“Of course, it’s true, you little minx, but I didn’t think you’d sell me out so quickly.”

Jackson chuckles. “You should know better, Ford.”

I press my hand to my chest in mock offense. “How dare you! I’m just a sweet little omega.”

Ford kisses me. “Sweet you might be, Vee. But we all know you like to stir up shit.”

“I do not.” Sometimes I do. But today really isn’t one of those days. No, today is important. To all of us, even if they are giving me crap and trying to distract me from getting ready. “Look.” I level my prime alpha with a no nonsense stare. “There I was just innocently trying to get ready and then Ford comes along and tries to distract me.”

Jackson hums. “How far along did you get?”

“I showered. But I need to do my hair and my makeup, which will take longer today than normal.”

I rarely bother with a full face of makeup anymore. Now that my skin is glowing and the dark circles under my eyes have faded, I don’t usually need it. But today. I think I do. No, I know I do.

They must feel a shot of my trepidation, because both of my alphas move in closer to me. “You’re beautiful no matter what, pipsqueak,” Ford reassures me.

Jackson kisses my cheek. “You could go down just like this and it wouldn’t change a thing.”

“Well,” Asher says from the door of the nest. “We might end up in jail because we’ll have murdered anyone that looks at you for too long.”

I grin at him and hold out my hand, inviting him closer. “Is everything ready?”

Asher presses a kiss to my palm and then settles on the bed. “Yes, there is nothing for you to worry about.”

“Why are we all hiding out in here?” Davis asks, coming in, followed by Topher. “Have we decided to scrap the whole idea?”

There’s a very brief flash of hurt that I can’t stifle before all of them feel it. I know he didn’t mean it. I know they are looking forward to this as much as I am.

“Shit, beautiful,” Davis runs a hand through his hair. “You know, I didn’t mean it like that.”

I nod. “I know, Davis. It’s okay.” I send a wave of reassurance through the bond. And he relaxes. There’s a beat of silence as Davis and Topher join us on the bed, and then I whisper, “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous.”

Ford huffs and pulls me into his body, rearranging me until I’m between his legs, my back to his chest.

“You know what happened before is definitely not going to happen now, right?” Jackson asks, cautiously reaching for my hand.

I grin at him. “Oh, believe me, I know. You all have been flooding me with so much love and reassurance and freaking stability through the bond that there is no way I could even for one second think this is going to end badly. But even knowing it’s going to be fine, I’m still nervous. This is a big deal.”

Davis laughs and shakes his head. “You’d think the whole knotting you and bonding you thing would have been a bit more nerve-wracking than this.”

I frown. “That was just us, for us. This is… for other people. It’s so public.”

Topher nods. “It’s an unfortunate side effect of being with an elite pack.”

“Think of it as you staking your claim on us, angel,” Asher says. “Letting the entire world know we’re taken.”

I look pointedly at my bonding bite on his neck. “Everyone already knows you’re taken.” There have been a flurry of articles about it, ever since we emerged from my heat weeks ago and went in public for the first time. Every single one of them showed off their marks. I’d done the same, putting my hair up in a ponytail so the four bites on my neck were on display, and wearing a shirt low cut enough to show the edge of Topher’s on my breast. There have been pictures of us splashed across every single news and gossip site about our bonding. But we haven’t confirmed it.
