“Christen it. Definitely christen it.” Turning serious again, I took in the changes he’d made. The furniture he’d chosen with me in mind. “I can’t believe you did all this. You made it into a proper home.”

“No.” He drew me into his arms, kissing me. “You made this place a home. From the very first time you were here, sitting right over there on my sofa in those ridiculous socks.” Socks that I knew for a fact he loved to see me wearing. Leading me over to the shelves, he picked up a new framed picture, handing it to me. “Remember this?”

I smiled down at the photo that Bryn had taken of me, Killian, and G outside the theatre after my dance showcase. That day marked the beginning of our official relationship, and now I’d see this reminder every time I entered Killian’s flat.

“I can’t believe it’s already been two months since then.” Carefully placing the picture frame back on the shelf, I leaned into Killian’s body. “And now I get to be on your shelf.”

“That’s not the only place.” He led me into the bedroom, indicating towards his dresser. There was another framed picture here—the selfie I’d taken of us next to the canal.

“I love this picture. I love you.”

Trailing his nose up the side of my throat, he placed a soft kiss just beneath my ear. “I love you, too. And just so you know, when the end of the semester comes up and you have to decide whether to renew your housing contract for another year, I’m going to ask you to move in with me. If you want to stay where you are for your final year, I’ll be completely fine with that, but know this, Joshua. When you graduate, you will be moving in with me.”

“Oh, will I?” I managed to rasp out, so fucking turned on by his decisive words and the way he was grinding his cock against me.

“Yes. You will.”

Honestly? I couldn’t think of anything better.

Pouncing on him, I pressed him up against the wall, taking his mouth in a hot, hungry kiss. He moaned, grasping my ass and slotting his leg between mine.

The buzzer sounded, and we flew apart, gasping.

“Fuck. I forgot. Fuck. You’re far too tempting, JJ.”

“Me? You are.”

The buzzer sounded again, and Killian stalked over to the door, adjusting his prominent erection. When he reached it, he paused, turning back to me. “We’re continuing this when everyone has gone. For now, make yourself presentable. Picture Gage catching us—his shocked face should do the trick.”

“Everyone? Who’s everyone? What’s happening?”

I had my answers a few minutes later.

Looking around me as I stood at the kitchen island, prepping the ingredients for a communal brunch, I couldn’t believe this was my life. Killian’s flat was full to bursting. Gage, Stuart, Stuart’s wife Rosa, Ander, Elliot, Alyssa, Niccolò, and G were all here. Stuart had set up a card game, and he, Alyssa, Ander, and Elliot were currently engrossed, cards in hand. Rosa was flipping through Killian’s new books, and Niccolò and Gage appeared to be bonding over talk of football, of all things.

Killian hit some buttons on his phone, and soft music began playing through the speakers.

He stepped up to G, holding out his hand. “May I have this dance?”

She smiled, tears of joy in her eyes as they waltzed slowly around the flat. I knew she was remembering, as I was, and I loved Killian even more for giving her this moment, a little reminder of the happy times in our past and, at the same time, creating a new memory with him in it.

They reached the island and came to a stop next to me.

“Josh. It’s time you took your man for a spin.” She kissed my cheek and then Killian’s. “My two darling boys. I love you both so much.”

Killian turned away, discreetly wiping his eyes, and I gave him his space, leading G over to the armchair and getting her settled in with a blanket tucked around her legs. One of the retirement complex staff would be back to pick her up in a few hours, but for now, we got to spend quality time all together.

When I returned to Killian, he was mostly composed, and I wrapped my arms around him, placing my mouth to his ear. “You’re family, you know. Our family. My family.”

“I’ve never had a family before,” he whispered, burying his head in the crook of my neck.

I held on to him tightly, letting him know without words that he had a family now, and we’d never let him go.

A new song began to play, and he lifted his head to meet my eyes, his gaze so soft and full of love. My heart skipped a beat.

“Dance with me, my sunshine,” he said.
