"I know." She has no fucking idea how much I know. I wish I would have done things differently with her when she turned eighteen and we had sex for the first time. That night, she told me about the night she lost her virginity. As much as I hated that she lost it to some dickhead, part of me was glad it wasn't to me.

I didn’t deserve her then, and I still don’t.

Looking over at the clock on her desk, it's already eleven thirty. She has class tomorrow, and I don't want her to miss any more than necessary. Kissing her forehead one more time, I whisper, "Sleep, little girl. We can deal with everything else tomorrow."

She nods and kisses right over my heart before snuggling herself up against my side. “Night, Jagger.”

Closing my eyes, I try to push away all thoughts of tonight. I'm still pissed as hell at Ridge. We need to convince him to go back to rehab. Bresin doesn't deserve his shit.

Banging on her door causes my eyes to snap open. Bresin moves in my arms and groans, but doesn't wake. The banging stops for a few seconds before it starts again. Nudging her a little, her eyes finally open slowly. I hand her my shirt before I pull on my jeans and make my way toward the annoying asshole on the other side of that damn door.

As soon as I look through the peephole, I see him standing on the other side. Shit is about to hit the fan. I know he'll swing as soon as he sees me.

"Who is it?" she asks quietly.

"Ridge," I mutter under my breath. She gasps, but I ignore her. I have to figure out how to keep him from charging at me as soon as I open the damn door.

Taking a deep breath, I ready myself. Positioning my foot behind the door, I open it, pressing my weight to it.

“I fucking knew it,” he bites out, trying to grab for me. I lean back just enough to be out of his reach, but I won’t be able to fight him like this. "I never should have fucking trusted you. All you ever wanted was one thing. My sister.” He bangs on the door some more, which I'm sure causes Bresin’s floormates to come out of their rooms to see what's happening.

"Chill the fuck out, Ridge," I growl, pushing the door closed a little more. Somehow, he gets his fist in, clocking me in the side of the head, making my grip loosen enough for him to push it open farther.

Bresin’s scream rips through the quiet room. When I turn to make sure she's okay, he pushes the door open. His fist connects with my cheekbone, the pain radiating through my face. My head jerks to the side and I stumble back.

He swings at me again, but I block it this time, then hit his gut. He hunches over slightly before he comes at me again. I swing at his already battered face. I feel the crunch of his nose as my fist plows into it. If I didn't break it last night, I definitely did this time.

He falls back, but I don't let my guard down. We've been fighting with each other for years. We know the way the other thinks, but with him using, it makes him unpredictable. I feel Bresin’s hands on my back, but I don't turn to look at her. Ridge's eyes meet mine as he spits blood on her cheap linoleum floor.

"She'll want nothing to do with you while you're rotting in a cell.” He comes closer, but I don't back down. Then, before I can do anything, Bresin steps in front of me just as he swings.

His fist connects with the side of her face, her whole body moving sideways with the momentum. I reach my hand out, catching her before she falls to the floor. "What in the fuck is wrong with you?" I bark out, walking Bresin to the bed. I lay her down. When I look at her, I can see the bruise already starting to form on her temple and creeping into her eyelid.

Fuck.

Groaning, she sits up as I turn to face her brother. "Get the hell out." I can feel the anger coursing through my veins.

"Fuck you. She’s my sister,” he says, coming closer.

"You’re the one who just fucking hit her. Stay the fuck away from her!"

Some security guys rush in and step in between Ridge and me. Bresin only has my shirt on, so if she moves too much, I’m sure they will get a glimpse of everything she has to offer, which pisses me off more. I walk over to the bed and sit next to her, wrapping my arm around her shoulders and holding her close.

My eyes meet Ridge's, seeing the anger flowing through them. He's pissed as hell right now, but I don't give a shit. He hurt her and that's all I need to know. He will pay for that crap. He needs to get his ass clean before he ruins everything.
