Ezra hummed and ran his eyes over me, a beautiful smile tilting his lips. “Saw you over here and thought I’d come tell you that you look great today, Spencer.”

My cheeks flushed red. Mentally, I scolded myself. Bad, Spencer! You can’t crush on Ezra Hart! But damn, he made it really hard not to.

“I don’t really think that was necessary, Ezra, but thank you.” I was thankful that my voice came out strong instead of shaky like I feared it might. The normalcy I could fake around him was astonishing. Normally, I tripped all over my words due to my anxiety.

He winked at me as one of his football buddies walked up and slung his arm around Ezra’s neck, nodding once at me in greeting. “I’ll break your icy exterior one day, baby,” Ezra promised before he allowed his friend to drag him away.

Shelby choked from behind me. I blew out a harsh breath and turned to face her, forcing a smile to my lips. Ezra tended to leave me weak-kneed. Last week, he had never given up on flirting with me and trying to get me to agree to a date with him, no matter how many times I turned him down. And it wasn’t like I could easily stop tutoring him. He did all of the work I told him to do and did his best to understand what I was teaching him. He also didn’t stop until he grasped the concept and could do the problems on his own.

It was just the endless flirting that bothered me. Other than that, he was absolutely perfect… which was slightly bothersome.

“Be careful with him,” Shelby told me, a serious note in her voice. I blinked at her in surprise. She’d just been freaking out that he was coming to talk to me. This was a one-eighty. “Ezra is a smooth talker, and he’s gone through more guys and girls than any of us can keep up with.”

I smiled at her, thankful for the warning. I’d keep it in the back of my mind when I felt like caving. “Thanks, Shelby.” I sighed. “I tutor him in math. He’s just… persistent.”

She laughed a little. “You’re not giving in easily. Guys like him love a chase.” She reached out and gently squeezed my arm. “I need to get to class. Just remember what I said, okay? You’re a free guy who can do whatever he wants. I just want you to be careful if you do decide to get tangled up with him.”

I smiled at her, though I didn’t really feel it. Knowing I was just one of many he wanted to hook up with left a hollow feeling in my gut. “Thanks, Shelby. I’ll see you later, and I’ll text you when I’m done tutoring.”

She threw me a thumbs up over her shoulder. Sighing, I headed for my first class, which was math. Once I set my books on my desk, I headed back out to go to the restroom really quickly before class started. I hated having to leave class in the middle of a lesson because my bladder was demanding. I always ended up missing something important.

I was washing my hands when the door opened, and Logan stepped inside. His outfit wasn’t much different than it was when I met him last week. Only now, he was wearing a hoodie over his shirt, and the hood was pulled up over his head, giving him an almost mysterious vibe that I was sure many other guys—or girls—dug.

“I saw you with Ezra,” he said, skipping past all the pleasantries.

I sighed, wondering where this was going. “Is that a problem?” I asked him as I grabbed a couple of paper towels to dry my hands.

He stepped up behind me so close, I could feel his body heat. I spun around to face him, my breath hitching in my throat at our close proximity. “Ezra Hart is bad fucking news, Spencer. You should steer clear. Guys like him will only hook you, tell you everything you want to hear, and shatter you once he gets in your tight, pretty, little body.”

I clenched my jaw, anger burning through me. Who the fuck did he think he was? “Good thing I’m just tutoring him,” I hissed. I hated being told what to do, and even more, I hated confrontations. I pressed my hands to his chest, pushing against him, though he didn’t budge. My skin grew clammy. I felt trapped. Too closed in. “Now back the fuck up and let me by.”

Logan sneered down at me, which was a shocking difference from how he’d been last week when I’d been tutoring him. He’d been pleasant—listening as I talked things out with him. There was only a little bit of flirting. Mostly, he was quiet except for a couple of times he lashed out at other people in the library who were talking too loudly for him to concentrate. It’d been hard to get a read on him, but I guessed now he was showing his true colors.

They weren’t very pretty.

“What the fuck are you even doing with him anyway?” Logan demanded to know, refusing to give me my space. I forced myself to breathe in deeply. I didn’t want to panic in front of him. “Everyone here knows Ezra and I hate each other.”

Well, I hadn’t, so obviously not everyone knew.

I tried shoving him again, but he was too big and strong for me to move him. “I’m tutoring him,” I snapped. “That is it, though I don’t see how it’s any of your business.”

Logan’s anger dimmed a little, his eyes softening the tiniest bit. He was giving me whiplash. “Just tutoring?”

Frowning, I nodded. “Thank fuck,” he muttered.

Then, before I could even figure out what the hell was happening, Logan was kissing me. It came out of nowhere. I had no signs it was going to happen. But when his lips met mine, my mind blanked completely of everything except Logan, how he smelled, the way he touched me, and how his lips felt against mine.

His lip ring was cold against my mouth, but the metal quickly warmed the longer our lips were pressed together. His nose piercing rubbed against my cheek, and I could feel the slight stubble on his jaw rasping against my skin, leaving behind a bit of a beard burn, which I loved.

He pressed against me, his hands sliding down my sides to grip my ass, his fingertips digging in through my jeans. I moaned when he nipped at my lower lip. Taking advantage of my parted lips, he licked into my mouth, devouring me. I could do nothing but follow along, chasing him as he led me along.

Consuming me.

And fuck, I didn’t want to be anywhere else. In fact, I just wanted him more. I wanted him everywhere.

When we parted, I was panting, my lips swollen, and the warning bell was ringing. Logan stepped back from me without a word, his tongue licking over his lips. Then, he left the bathroom as quietly as he’d walked in, leaving me stunned and confused.

What the fuck just happened?
