“Nox…” Nelson’s head lolled and he was smiling as his hand sifted through Nox’s hair, lovingly encouraging him to take what he wished. “My Nox.”

“Yours,” he said, angling his head so he could suck on Nelson’s sac. Pre-cum leaked from Nelson as Nox stroked and teased the soft flesh with his tongue, then shifted lower. He eased Nelson’s legs wider and his feet up and higher, opening him so Nox could feast. Nelson tasted so soft and sweet and his ragged pleas drove Nox wild. He was shaking, he was so frantic to feel Nelson deep and hard in his core. “And this is yours,” Nox said as he rose on his knees with the lube. He quickly fingered himself so he was ready, then mounted Nelson, taking him to the hilt.

“This is mine?” Nelson asked, sitting up and capturing Nox’s lips for a primal, possessive kiss. He rolled them, pinning Nox to the bed by his wrists. He pumped his hips, driving hard and swift and stealing Nox’s breath.

“Yes!” Nox gasped, gulping for air as his prostate was crushed and warm, flickering pleasure raced down his limbs and up his spine. “Yours,” he promised as he hooked his heels under Nelson’s ass and held on for dear life.

Nelson growled, his fingers twisting tight around Nox’s hands and locking them together. “Mine.” His lips slanted over Nox’s, his tongue lapping and swirling with feral abandon, setting them both aflame. He was rough and demanding and Nox howled like a wolf, urging him on and begging for more.

“Don’t stop! Don’t hold back this time.” Nox wound his legs tighter around Nelson, afraid he’d come to his senses and that whatever madness the moon had brought would pass.

“Can’t stop,” Nelson ground out, driving harder and faster. His pelvis slapped against Nox’s ass with every wild thrust as their swears and screams filled the night. Nelson tasted like tears and sweat and skin and Nox was intoxicated as he was surrounded and saturated with heat and lust.

Pleasure and pressure built in Nox’s core and he could feel them getting hotter and wetter as they fought to get closer and deeper. This was what Nox had been waiting for, what he knew could be if Nelson would just give in to the irresistible connection they shared and let the magick happen.

“Oh gods, that’s it!” Nox’s eyes rolled as he was overwhelmed by ecstasy, the twisting of his nerves almost excruciating as he held on and waited for Nelson. His soul flickered and popped like fire igniting, flames glowing and leaping as Nelson’s soul caught a spark and was consumed in the conflagration.

“Yes, Nox!” he screamed as he slammed forward, his hands tight around Nox’s and their palms pressed together. “Nox!” Their lips crashed as Nelson surrendered to the bright bliss, spilling deep and hard in Nox as he came with a shredded roar.

The pressure and heat in Nox’s core snapped. He imploded into bright, blazing bits and all was quiet and he was alone. He was floating and unmoored, a speck in a galaxy of vast, miraculous peace. Time had stopped for him, yet Nox could feel millions and millions of lives spinning like speck-sized tornadoes, their hours and days mere moments that swirled around him like dust motes.

Slowly, Nox began to sense more and more of his body as he became aware of the smell of trees and the sound of birds and a blue, cloudless sky. Nox was suspended in loving light, swimming in sunshine and the sweet, spring breeze. He laughed at the bees buzzing around his hands and face and crooned softly to the butterflies that had come to rest on his nose and cheeks.

And Nox was so, so high. Higher than anything he’d achieved from a mushroom, flower, or even from a needle. He was pure euphoric joy as he hugged his naked body and basked in a radiant, peaceful dawn.

Oh, my beautiful child. I’ve waited so long.

The words brought tears of rapturous love and relief to Nox’s eyes as they filled him and echoed through the forest around him. He was home and he was cherished. Sacred.

“Athair ionúin,”1 Nox breathed to the light. This was his beloved father and he was home.

My beloved son, bearer of the sun and lord of the night. You are my light.

Nox spread his arms to his father, calling for him. “Athair ionúin.”

He opened his eyes and Nox’s heart sang as he beheld his father’s face again. It was the Lucas Nox had never had the chance to meet and had longed for, with hints of gray in his hair and his beard and wrinkles at the corners of his eyes. He was as old as Clancy and Nox could feel his father’s pride and joy as they embraced each other.

We are finally together and I will not be parted from you again.

Happiness like he had never known flooded Nox, making him brighter than the light filling the forest as the sun rose behind him. He never wanted to be parted from his beloved father. Nox looked around him to see where they were so he could go to his father when he was awake.

Don’t you know this place? I brought you here when you were a child and it was the first time you felt me.

Nox didn’t recognize the place but he could feel the stone circle beneath them. Most of the stones had been hidden by time, covered by earth and obscured by the forest as the trees grew older, taller, and wiser around them.

You will find it when the time comes. But first, find this one who claims the Badb and end his lies. He means to come between us and he has hurt you. He has stained our name and tainted our light with his evil, blasphemous deeds and he will know our vengeance.

That was what was in Nox’s heart as well and he gloried in his desire to see his beloved father’s will be done. He would bring an end to the lying Badb and the darkness he had wrought.

Yes, my child. You will put an end to his darkness and together we will bring in a new age of glorious light.

1 Athair Ionúin (UH-hurh IN-ooñ): Beloved father

Fourteen

It took too long for Nelson to realize he was awake and the twisting green canopy overhead with its twinkling leaves and crystal petals was Nox’s fairy bed. His limbs were like lead and his head was fuzzy and filled with buzzing and harp song. He was shaking and anxious, but he wasn’t cold.

“Nox…” His palm flopped onto an eye, smearing away some of the grogginess and the lingering whiff of euphoria. “Nox?” Nelson tried to raise his head and found it heavy and the room tipped and swayed around him.
