“When?” he asked.
She blushed.
“Gods, Olivia,” he groaned. “You’ll be the death of me.”
“Why?” she asked.
“I want you so much,” he heard himself admit. “But I don’t want to rush you. And I want it to be good.”
“Our time here is limited,” she said softly. “I’m sorry if my inexperience makes you feel uncomfortable. But Iwant a baby, and so do you. And that means we have to try. You don’t have to do anything special for me.”
“You’re a brave little thing,” he told her.
“Or maybe a greedy one,” she said with a half-smile, tentatively reaching out for him.
He held perfectly still, closing his eyes as she lightly stroked his jaw with the pads of her fingers. He felt her teasing touch everywhere, his senses coming alive.
“Can I kiss you?” she asked.
He opened his eyes.
“I’ve always wanted to kiss a man,” she said dreamily.
He nodded, not trusting himself to speak, and reached out to cup her cheek. Like the rest of her, it was impossibly soft. He leaned forward and tasted her sweet lips.
It was only a gentle kiss, a brush of his lips against hers, but he could feel her tremble at his touch. When he pulled back, she whimpered lightly and followed him, pressing her lips to his.
He surrendered and kissed her fully, sliding a hand into her silky hair to hold her still while he thumbed her jaw open to taste her tongue.
Her body was pressed to his now, and he was almost frantic with lust.
Gods, give me strength,he prayed.
He pulled back and gazed into her eyes.
“Please,” she whispered.
“Lie back,” he told her. “Let me kiss you some more.”
She did as she was told, and he felt a little flare of satisfaction.
Crawling on top of her, he cupped her cheek in his palm again.
“If you aren’t sure about something, you have to tell me to stop,” he told her firmly. “Can you do that?”
She nodded.
“I need to hear you say it,” he said.
“Yes,” she told him. “I can tell you to stop.”
“Good,” he said, stroking her cheek with his thumb.
He loved the way she leaned into his touch, no matter how small.
Inhaling her sweet scent, he bent to nuzzle her neck.
She let out a surprised little laugh.
