“You’re renting this house?”

“That’s your motivation?” His cheeks were adorably red, and he fiddled with his glasses.

I pulled him toward the kitchen. It was a bit small and far from modern, with a wooden table and a used refrigerator that looked on the verge of falling apart. I would have to get a microwave, kettle, and other small appliances, but I had a kitchen.
“This is cozy.” Scottie released my hand and went over to the window to look outside. “Some nice curtains will add to the charm. Do you have permission to change the wallpaper? That’s one thing I’d do if you can. This is a little outdated.” He slapped a hand over his mouth.
“What?”
“I’m sorry. This isn’t my place. I shouldn’t be rambling on about what I would change.”
“Are you kidding me? I like your insight. To build this thing from the ground up? I’m your guy, but I have no clue what happens after.”
“Well, if you’re sure, I can help.”
“And I know just how to reward you for your help.”
“You do?”
I walked up to him, lifted him, and placed him on the table. Shoving his thighs wide, I slid between them. I grazed his lips with mine, but when he moved forward to seek more, I pulled back.
“I want you to stay over some nights,” I said. “No more running off to your bed at the ass crack of dawn because of work. In fact, I am closer to your work, so you can leave some things here if you want.”
He licked his lips and gently rubbed the pad of his thumb over my Adam’s apple. “Are you sure? Because this is the perfect opportunity to bring random hookups here. I’d never know.”
I scowled. “Are you being serious right now? I only fuck with you.”
“Why?” He looked serious, so I bit back the teasing remarks that came to mind.
“Because you are the most genuine person I’ve ever met. You were down for me when no one else was. You’re funny and sweet. And you have a heart of gold.”
Scottie smothered a chuckle.
“What?” I asked.
He threw his arms around my neck and hugged me tightly. “You forgot to say I’m good in bed.”
Laughing, I placed a hand on his back and embraced him. “Baby, I wouldn’t use ‘good’ to describe the way you are in bed. Have my dick behaving unruly every time it sees you.”
“Is it misbehaving now?”
“What’d you think?” I took one of his hands and pressed it against my erection. “I’m crazy about you, Scottie McHottie.”
