This is the first time I’ve been to his room. We usually meet after class, or at our date destination, and then go our separate ways afterwards. But this is the first time I’ve seen a glimpse into him on a deeper level.

His comforter and sheets are black, which isn’t surprising. His style is definitely more on the ‘punk rock’ side. Or that’s what I would assume it's called since it’s a foreign style to me. He has a few band posters hanging on his wall, all of them are unfamiliar to me. Some of them have people wearing clothing similar to his own style, some look more folksy, some of them look a bit scarier—definitely embracing more of the ‘punk’ vibes.

His closet is open and I can see dozens of shoes stacked neatly on a rack, all the same brand skate shoes he always wears, in different colors and varying in style— some slip on and some with laces. He has one framed photograph on his dresser. I assume it’s his family because they’re all blonde and smiling with one another. The rest of the surfaces are covered in books and papers, all semi-neatly organized.

“Is your roommate coming back tonight?” I ask him, he turns his head to look down at me.

“No,” he answers. “He’s gone for the weekend.”

I smile slowly, “Good.” His cheeks get a little pink which I love. He’s so cute.

He rolls his lips into his mouth to hide his smile before turning away from me and back to the screen. “You’re trouble.”

“Never,” I laugh.

We finish the movie and I actually enjoyed it. I stretch my arms up over my head. “I should probably get going,” I say, scooting myself to the end of the bed and standing.

He closes his laptop and moves to the edge of the bed after me. “Or you can stay.”

I look at him, and he looks at me nervously and tenderly.

“Just sleep. No expectations.”

I step towards him, standing in between his legs. “Do you want me to stay over?” I ask, my voice low.

“You know I do,” he whispers back. His hands move to my legs as he brings his mouth closer to mine. He smiles against my lips before pressing a sweet chaste kiss to them and pulling away. I glare at him and he smiles innocently. “Just to sleep.”

I shove him playfully before backing up a step. “Can you give me some shorts or something to sleep in?”

He hops off the bed. “Oh yeah, of course. Hold on.” He walks to his dresser and pulls out a black shirt and some boxers. “These might fit you better than my sweatpants would.”

“A boxers guy,” I tease with a smirk.

“Sometimes I go the boxer brief route, depends on the day.” He smiles and I laugh.

I smile at him, taking them. “Bathroom?” I ask.

“I’ll show you.” He walks to the door and leads me down the hall to the communal bathroom. God, I’m so glad I have our apartment. I could not do this everyday.

I use the bathroom, change and walk outside to find him leaning against the wall waiting for me. He walks me back to his dorm letting me inside before heading back to the bathroom with more clothes.

“Be right back,” he says before he goes.

I pull back his comforter and make myself comfortable in his bed, waiting for him to get back.

When he returns and sees me laying in his bed, he smiles and lets out a chuckle. “You look good in my bed.”

I open my mouth in surprise, “Hayden, that’s so forward.” He laughs.

“I would apologize, but I’m figuring you out, Ana Reyes.” I raise one eyebrow at him. He continues, “I know when you’re teasing and trying to make me feel embarrassed.” He smiles, his words betraying him slightly by the pink creeping up his cheeks. He walks over, in a plain white T-shirt and black sweatpants. “But are you sure you’re okay with me sleeping in the bed with you?”

“I’m super okay with it,” I tell him with a smirk. He looks down and shakes his head before turning the lights off. He walks over to his little speaker, connecting his phone wirelessly and starts playing music softly.

“Will it bother you if there’s music playing?” he asks.

“No,” I say truthfully. I can see his smile slightly, even in the dark room. I scoot towards the wall to make room for him and he climbs in slowly. I smile, watching him settle down next to me. The bed is so ridiculously small that there is only an inch of space with him actively trying not to touch me.

We’ve only kissed so far. We do kiss a lot, but he always pulls away after some time. Never letting things go too far. He was serious about taking his time. It’s annoying.
