“Then I’m afraid Angie is busy,” the huge man said.

Angie came up behind him and said, “Thomas, thanks. He’s fine. Let him in.”

Thomas looked at her as though to say, “Are you sure?” but then stepped back.

“I’ll be close if you need me,” Thomas said.

“Thanks,” she said, putting her hand on the man’s arm. Then she looked at Noah and asked, “Why are you here?”

“I was hoping you would offer me a cup of coffee and we could talk.”

She stared at him for a minute, nodded and stepped back, opening the door.

“Why are you here?” Angie asked, her back against the counter, her hands behind her.

“I’m dying of curiosity. Most women would jump at the chance of being the luna. You just said no and left.”

“I have a life here. I see no reason to disrupt it,” Angie replied. “It would be better for the both of us if you found a different woman.”

“Why?”

“I have my reasons,” Angie said. “Besides, as I said, I have a life here. I have some projects I’m involved in, and I have a lot of friends.”

“What other reasons do you have?”

“I would rather not discuss them,” she said.

Frustrated, he groaned. “You are being very bull-headed.”

She grinned. “Thank you.”

“I wish you would be honest with me,” Noah said.

“Tell everyone that I didn’t want to leave my life in the human world behind. You’ve accepted that, and you’re moving on,” Angie said.

“I might if I knew the truth.”

Angie sighed heavily and shook her head. “Please just leave it alone.”

This man is as stubborn as I am.

“I’ve come all this way to talk to you. The least you could do was offer me some coffee.”

“Black?”

“Yep.”

She pulled out a chair and sat at the table, motioning for him to do the same.

“You’ve been following me,” she said waiting to see the look on his face.

He ran his fingers through his hair and grinned. “How did you know?”

“You’re not a very good stalker,” Angie said.
