“That was ugly,” Ian said, as they left the room.

“Yes, it was. I hated to see it happen, but heaven knows what she would do if she wasn’t stopped,” Zac said.

“What are you going to do now?” Ian asked.

“I have to go find Olivia,” Zac said.

He drove as quickly as he could to Jade’s apartment. His heart stopped when he saw Olivia putting her bags into the trunk of her car.

“Are you sure you have to leave?” Jade asked.

“I don’t want to, but I don’t know that I have a choice,” Olivia said. “It’s going to be pretty obvious that I’m pregnant soon, and I don’t need word getting back to Zac. He’s made his position clear, and I’m not going to trap him into a relationship or saddle him with a kid he doesn’t want.”

“I think that there is something else going on,” Jade said.

“If it had just been Tami, then I would agree. But, I’ve called him and left messages for him, and he didn’t reply.”

“It’s not like Zac to ghost someone.”

Olivia threw up her hands and said, “What else can I do? I’ve gone to his house and his office. I’ve called and left messages. Short of stalking him and waiting in his driveway for him to come home, I’m out of options. I’m no stalker.”

“Where are you going?”

“I was thinking North Carolina. It has mountains and the ocean,” Olivia said.

“That’s far away,” Jade said.

“I know. But not so far that we can’t hop on a plane or take a long road trip.”

Jade sighed heavily and nodded. “Okay. Keep in touch.”

“I promise,” Olivia said.

She picked up her bags and sadly headed down to her car, feeling foolish for thinking that someone like Zac would think that she was his fated mate.

Olivia tossed her bags in the trunk and then buckled her teddy bear into the passenger side seat of the car. She hopped in, put her car in drive, and then squealed, pressing her brake in even harder.

Slamming the car in park, she leaped out and yelled, “What the hell do you think you are doing?”

Zac said, “I had to stop you. You can’t leave.”

“Why? You haven’t been too interested in talking to me before,” she said.

“I can explain that. Tami deleted my voice and text messages. She also blocked your number on my phone. I never knew that you came by the office until Jade told me,” he said.

Olivia crossed her arms and stared at him, wondering what else Jade had told him.

“I’ve been trying to get ahold of you. I went by the hotel, but you weren’t there. I found Jade and she said you had been staying with her and told me what Tami said to you. Tami has been exiled from the pack because of her actions,” Zac said.

“What?” she asked. “Just for blocking me from seeing you?”

“That and the fact that she was the one who told Declan where to find you. That put me and the other pack members in danger. It was a blatant disregard for our safety,” Zac said.

“Wow. I never thought that she would do that,” Olivia said, leaning against the side of her car.
