A burst of red anger exploded in front of Zac’s eyes. Declan would have likely already known where she was because of the earlier fishing expedition, or soon would, but Tami led him directly to where Olivia had been staying. On top of that, she had exaggerated the case against Olivia and outright lied about her.

Thank you for letting me know. Don’t worry. We’ll take care of the problem. She’ll be out of your hair soon and your alpha will be safe.

Zac printed off the emails, and the proof from the phone company’s website, and marched into Elder Ivan’s office. There was one action that he had to have the elder’s approval on.

“We have a problem,” Zac said.

“What problem is that?” the elder asked.

“Tami. She is the one who brought Declan here. She also blocked Olivia’s number from my phone and erased my messages. According to Jade, Tami also told Olivia that I didn’t want to see her because of all the trouble that she caused.”

Elder Ivan steepled his fingers and looked at Zac, speculatively.

“Olivia is going to be the next luna,” Zac said. “This issue with Tami needs to be addressed now.”

The elder called the other elders and had them meet in the justice room. They donned their robes and sat on the dais in a semi-circle.

After Zac called Ian, he had located Tami and had her brought in. When she saw the tribunal looking sternly at her, all the color drained from her face. She started visibly shaking.

Zac repeated what he had learned to all of the elders and demanded that she be exiled from the pack.

“Before we make our judgement, what do you have to say for yourself?” Elder Ivan asked.

“I knew, in my gut, from the beginning that Olivia was trouble. I was positive that she was going to put my alpha and the pack in danger,” Tami said, tears in her eyes.

“You are the one who put the alpha and the pack in danger,” Elder Ivan said.

She turned toward Zac and said, “I just wanted to protect you. I’m in love with you and have been since we were kids. You are my fated mate.”

Zac let out a sound that was between a laugh and a cough. “Woman, I don’t know where you got that notion. The most I ever felt for you was indifference. You were a good personal assistant. That’s it. Now, I feel disgust. Olivia is my fated mate.”

The words slipped out of his mouth before he even realized that he said it.

“That can’t be true. She is not worth being the luna of our pack. She is the omega of her own, to the point that her own alpha tried to kill her,” Tami cried, desperately.

“Enough,” Elder Ivan said.

Tami sat down in her chair abruptly, clamping her lips shut.

The elders put their heads together and discussed the evidence and severity of Tami’s actions.

“In all my tenure as an elder, I’ve never been forced to take such drastic action. Tami Rhodes, you are hereby exiled from the Nightshade wolf shifter pack. You are no longer welcome to attend any of our functions or receive any benefits from being in our pack. Your employment with the pack has also been terminated,” Elder Ivan said.

“That’s not fair,” Tami protested.

The elder held up his hand and said, “You’re lucky that you aren’t banished to the island. Your actions were selfish and showed a blatant disregard for the alpha and other pack members. You directly put them in harm’s way. Your actions led to the death of the alpha from a different pack and members of that pack.”

Elder Ivan was referring to an island that was set off from the mainland of Alaska that was usually reserved for individuals who committed significant crimes, such as sexual assault or murder. Food was flown in to the people once a week and it was heavily guarded. The only way on or off the island was by plane or boat. The pack members were forced to do hard labor five days a week.

“He would have figured out where she was, anyway,” Tami argued.

“Be that as it may,” the elder said.

“But…” she started to say.

“I wouldn’t say another word, if I were you,” the elder said.

She pressed her lips together and cried.
