Olivia smiled and said, “I do. With all my heart and soul, I’m ready to start this journey of love and life with Zac. Together, we will create a bond that is unbreakable and build a future filled with understanding, laughter, and unwavering support.”

Zac smiled at her, and her heart thundered with the love that she felt for him.

Elder Ivan spoke again. “Zac, do you stand here, willingly, ready to unite your life and heart with Olivia, to share the victories and challenges that life will bring?”

“I do. Olivia has brought light and love to my life. With her by my side, I am now complete. I vow to protect and cherish her. I promise to stand with her through every storm and celebrate every victory with her. Together, we will form a connection that cannot be broken, and we will build a life based on passion, trust, and loyalty.”

“Olivia and Zac, by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you mates. May your love continue to grow, deepening each day. May it be a beacon of strength and hope, lighting your path as you navigate the journey of life together.”

Zac wrapped Olivia in his arms and pressed his lips against hers. She never heard the applause as their love for one another enveloped them.

The room for the reception was beautifully decorated. Olivia was sure that the number of people at the reception doubled that of those who were at the ceremony.

Leading her to the center of the floor, Zac embraced Olivia as they danced their first waltz as mates.

“I love you,” he said.

“And I you,” she replied.

Zac and Olivia stepped outside for a breath of fresh air. Conner was leaning against a tree, staring at the sky.

“Sometimes I forget how beautiful this place is,” he said. “Every once in a while, I even get homesick.”

“You know you can always come home, Brother,” Zac said. “You used to dream of having a horse ranch and raising your own rodeo, show, and work horses.”

“Maybe,” Conner said.

“Putting down roots can’t be all that bad,” Olivia said. “Who knows, maybe you’ll even fall in love and start your own family.”

Conner laughed and said, “I don’t know anyone who would want an old cowboy like me.”

“Just wait and see,” Olivia said. “There’s someone for you.”

Shaking his head, Conner patted her on the back and said, “I’m heading in for another beer.”

Zac whirled Olivia around and said, “Let’s leave. The cake is cut, dances are done, and dinner is eaten. Our duty is done.”

“Just sneak out without saying good-bye or anything?”

“Yep.”

Olivia looked at her husband, her mate, as the moonlight streamed through the bedroom window. They slowly undressed each other, letting their clothing fall to the floor. Zac gently laid his new wife on the bed, their arms and legs intwined.

Their mouths met, the heat rising inside of Olivia as he entered her. They made sweet love to each other.

When each had reached the top of the universe and their hearts settled, Zac pulled her up against his body and said, “I love you.”

“I love you, my alpha, my mate.”
