There are too many comments, too many women who hate my guts right now. Most of the guys on the team have girlfriends or wives. The single ones keep things very secretive and for good reason. Why did I think this wouldn’t happen to me?

And then it hits me.

Tristan will know what to do.

He works for one of the top Wall Street banks as a hedge fund manager. His guys are always getting into trouble at gentleman’s clubs or after-hours events. Their problems always involve money and women, and the things he’s shared with us, in very little detail— were way worse than this. Child’s play, he would call it. Tristan should be able to sort this out in a matter of hours. Some of the assholes at the firm have done questionable shit, which Tristan has never disclosed but handled effectively. Aaron and I never asked because, frankly, we don’t want to know. All I know is Tristan doesn’t hurt anyone innocent, and he keeps his firm protected. These people never make the same mistake twice. The fuckers learn their lessons, even if they have to serve some time or get a good beating in a back alley. Although I don’t know any names, I know no one dares mess with Tristan anymore. Everyone is scared of him, which sometimes makes me wonder what kind of dealings he manages if he’s that intimidating.

I pull out my phone, opening the group chat between the three of us.

Me

Emergency meeting. My place in twenty.

Aaron

How bad?

Me

Bad.

Tristan

Fuck, Dom… I think I know what this is about. I’ll be there in thirty. Just finalizing a deal.

Aaron

Both of you come to my place. I have better alcohol.

I quicken my pace as I head home, repeating to myself that it’s not over until it’s over.

I can turn this around. This is just a small hiccup. I will fix this, no matter what it takes.

Crossing the street, long, golden hair catches my attention, and the nail in my chest twists painfully. Feeling guilty for the way I left things with Zoe earlier.

Today is definitely not my day.

CHAPTER 24

DOMINIK

“This couldn’t have happened at a worse time.” Aaron throws my phone back at me as he continues to pace. He loosens his tie, pulling it off and carefully folding it before laying it on the back of his chair.

I came straight to Aaron’s after speaking with Coach, knowing he and Tristan are the only ones who will be able to help me find a solution before this gets too far out of hand. I can’t trust myself with making the right decisions now; I don’t even know exactly how I ended up in this mess in the first place.

Watching Aaron pace is giving me a fucking headache.

“Cut it out and sit down.”

Aaron glares at me. “Did you fuck every single one of them?”

“Are you going to judge me?…Right now?…Seriously?”

“I’m not judging.”

“Yes, you are. I know that look.”

Aaron sighs, dragging his hand down his face. “I’m not judging you for having sex with multiple women. There is nothing wrong with that. I’m concerned your”—he pauses, choosing his next words carefully—“other activities are going to pop up next, and if they do, I’m not sure how you will come back from that.”
