He raised his brows. “Why? What do you have planned?”

“Hey, it’s my turn to surprise you.”

His gaze turned heated. “Will you end up naked and riding my dick by the end?”

The thought of the last time I’d done that, back in Mexico, sent wetness rushing between my thighs. “Maybe. Or not. You’ll just have to trust me and see.”

Nolan glanced at the table for the wedding party. “I think we’ve been around long enough. It’s been hours, and everyone will be watching the happy couple dance soon. It’s the perfect time to slip away.”

A quick glance revealed West guiding Emmy to the dance floor. “We’d better hurry. Follow me.”

I took his hand and tugged. Nolan moved quietly with me—past the area where I could grab my coat and change my shoes—and we exited the barn Emmy used for weddings on her property.

My family’s dairy farm was next door, but it was still a bit of a hike. Once we were well clear of the reception, Nolan asked, “Are you going to blindfold me?”

Smiling, I shook my head. “Not this time. It takes a little maneuvering to reach our destination, and I’m not strong enough to pick you up.”

“Pick me up? Color me intrigued. Are you sure you won’t give me more clues?”

I raised my chin. “Nope. It’s time for you to see how it feels.” He sighed dramatically, and I laughed. “That won’t work on me, buddy. Sorry.”

“Doesn’t mean I won’t try.”

He winked at me, and it sent a rush of heat between my legs.

I picked up my pace, eager to get to our destination, and changed the subject on purpose. “It’s not as warm as Mexico, but at least it’s well above freezing.”

He didn’t bat an eye at the change in topic. “Although being snowed in together—in what was it? Oh, Fargo—has its perks. Just saying.”

I laughed. “One day, we’ll go somewhere buried in snow. But today is not that day. Besides, where we’re going is special to me. Someplace only me and my siblings know about.”

“Not even the BFF Circle knows?”

I shook my head. “No.”

He smiled. “Then, lead on.”

We hurried in silence. Not strained, but comfortable, as if simply being together was enough.

Which was yet another thing I’d never had with another guy before. Just Nolan.

Soon we reached the secret path up a hill. I took a flashlight from my coat pocket—I’d come prepared and hopeful about tonight—and clicked it on. “This way.”

After a few minutes, we reached the top, where a little shack was hidden amongst the trees. I gestured toward it. “Here it is.”

“Was this always here, or did you all build it?”

“It was here, although we’ve fixed it up over the years.” I unlocked the door and went to the side, where the small generator was. “Normally, I’d do this myself. But with my dress and nails done, could you start it?”

“Sure.”

Nolan surprised me yet again by quickly getting the generator going. At my look, he explained, “My dad took me, West, and Beck on a few fishing trips when we were little. Usually the little cabin ran on a generator and was heated by a fireplace.”

“A man full of surprises.” I gestured. “Come on. I’m freezing.”

Nolan followed me inside. I switched on the lamp and small heater.

He whistled as he looked around the one room space. “What’s all this?”
