Hot, actually.

Except no. It was Dylan, and she didnotwant to think about him like that. Okay, shewantedto, but sheshouldn’t.

As soon as he’d shuffled past her and shut the bathroom door, Brooke fled to the kitchen and collapsed against the fridge with a groan.

Okay, so she’d seen Dylan’s penis. This was fine. Definitely uncharted territory for their friendship, but not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things. It was a perfectly innocent mistake, clearly an accident on both sides.

He was a model, so he was probably used to all sorts of random people looking at his body all the time. For all she knew, he’d even posed for full-frontal nudes. Extremely tasteful ones, she was sure.

It was just a body, right? Bodies were nothing to be ashamed of. She was a biologist; she knew that better than anyone. If you’d seen one sex organ, you’d seen them all.

Except that wasn’t true. Because now she’d seen Dylan’s sex organ. And it was Dylan. And he was…

Gloriouswas the word that immediately sprang to mind.

But that was bad. She wasn’t supposed to think of him that way. She wasn’t supposed to be thinking about his penis at all. But now, god help her, she couldn’tstopthinking about it, or about him.

It didn’t help that he was, at that very moment, naked in her shower. Wetting down his perfect body, lathering the soap over his flawless golden skin, hands sliding over the dripping muscles, gripping his—

Brooke turned on the kitchen faucet and splashed cold water over her face.

Twenty minutes later, she was pouring her second cup of coffee when Dylan emerged from the bathroom—fully clothed in jeans and a T-shirt, thank god, albeit a little damp and sweaty, which did nothing to keep Brooke’s lustful thoughts under control.

“Hey,” he ventured sheepishly, joining her in the kitchen.

Breathe. You can do this.If she pretended everything was normal, everything wouldbenormal.

Brooke forced herself to meet his eye with a broad smile. “Hey! How was your penis—SHOWER, I mean shower.Oh my god. How was yourshower?” Mortified, she covered her face with her hands as her cheeks burned red-hot.

So much for normal.

Dylan snort-laughed. “So I guess we should probably talk about what happened.”

“We super don’t have to.”

“I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to flash you.”

“No, that’s…it’s fine.” She reached for her coffee cup so she wouldn’t have to look him in the eye. “Some would even call it a bonus.”

“Still.” His voice was low and soft, like he genuinely felt terrible, and it tied her stomach into knots.

“Hey, that water cut’s definitely working though. Looking good!” She gave him an awkward thumbs-up and immediately regretted it.

Dylan grimaced. “Thanks.”

“I guess you can’t have coffee?”

He shook his head. “You know what? I’m gonna have a half cup. I can probably get away with that, and I definitely need it this morning.”

Brooke got out a mug for him and shifted out of the way as he maneuvered around her in the tiny kitchen to get to the coffeemaker. Her apartment had never felt so small before. Usually it was more than enough space for her and her medium-sized cat. But this morning it felt claustrophobically, suffocatingly small.

“So what do you have going on today?” Dylan asked as he poured himself some coffee.

“Um, you know, the usual. Giving an exam in class this morning, then work on finishing my paper. Maybe get started on grading.”

“What’s the class?”

“Introductory Bio.”
