Nonetheless, I’m still not going to give him what he wants. Clearing my throat, my mask slips back into place. “I don’t love her.”

Dante rises from his seat, chuckling as he shakes his head. “Keep telling yourself that.”

Without another word he leaves my office.

Slumping back in my chair, I mull over his words, realization hitting me.

She is the other half of my soul.

My everything.

Fuck.

I run a palm down my face, knowing that I am officially fucked.

Because what I’m feeling has a name. Is something. Iseverything.

And it’s time I admit it. At least to myself.

I, Nico Marchetti am in love.

I love Ocean, Emilee or whatever the fuck name she wants to go by.

The little liar swept into my life, crawled beneath my skin, and brought me to my knees.

I always knew was a witch and now she has achieved what I thought was the impossible.

She made me fall in love.

Chapter31

Ocean

I’m just pulling on a pair of yoga pants when someone knocks on Nico’s bedroom door. My brows furrow in confusion and I wonder who it could possibly be. Nico would never knock, and as far as I know, Valentina was taking Romeo down to the beach – surrounded by guards per Nico’s request – while I took an hour for myself and spent some time dancing in my new studio.

Nico wasn’t lying when he promised to have a home studio set up for me. I don’t know why I was surprised when he got everything a ballet studio would ever need and had it constructed within a couple of days, but I am. Though I am quickly starting to realize that nothing is out of reach or off limits when it comes to Nico Marchetti. He literally clicks his fingers and shit gets done.

“Ocean?” Valentina calls, snapping me from my thoughts.

Her unsure voice has panic seizing my chest. I thought she was at the beach. Worry floods my veins, my heart picking up to an unnatural speed as I rush to the door. Pulling it open, I pause when I find a smiling Valentina with two other women I don’t recognize.

“Where’s Romeo? Is he okay?” I blurt, needing to know the answer to my question before I even ask anything else.

Gripping my arm, she gives me a gentle squeeze. “He is fine, sweetie. Nico has him.”

A puff of air leaves my lips, my body relaxing. My gaze shifts back to the two women standing behind Valentina. The tension that was leaving my body soon rises again. Who are they? And why are they looking at me with creepy smiles?

“What’s going on?” I murmur, my voice small, hesitant.

Valentina’s lips curve into the biggest smile I have ever seen, but it doesn’t calm me any. Taking my hand, she pulls me into the room, waving at the women to follow. Glancing over my shoulder, only then do I notice the mobile clothes rail being pushed into the room with them. Garment bags hang from it, and I don’t know why but my stomach dips, a feeling of unease washing over me. The door is closed behind them, the click of the latch ringing in my ears like a bad omen. I swallow, my eyes bouncing between all three of them, waiting for one of them to tell me what the hell is going on right now.

“Honey, this is Mia and Theresa. They are here to measure you for your wedding dress.” Valentina finally speaks, her tone soft, placating.

My stomach sinks, eyes widen, mouth parting.

What did she just say?

Surely, I didn’t hear her right?
